I bought these ICON tie-rods for my 23 Wildtrak:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C66K4X6B

I took it to a shop today and they said that they are having great difficulties with the bellows in that kit--they say that it is too small. They got one side on, but may not be able to get the other side on!!! (Huh??)

Anybody ever hear of any problem like this? It seems very strange to me.

Ideas?

Do you have the Hoss 3.0 with Ford Performance tie rods already?

Yes. They are better than stock, but not as beefy as the ICON, so I thought I’d swap them out. Bad idea?

I don't know if it's a BAD idea, but seems like you could have applied that $ to somewhere more meaningful. You're just not getting a huge upgrade from Ford Performance Tie rods that came on your WT vs. the Icons. I also got the Icons, but I have a 22 Badlands, so a big upgrade from the stock tie rods.

The shop just called. They can't get the boot on the passenger side, so their solution is to put it back together with one OEM on one side and the ICON on the other!

I told him just to put it back stock. So I'm going to be out a few hundred dollars for their labor. Sheesh.

Maybe I'll call ICON and ask if they have a different bellows. Doubt they do.

Maybe ICON has a manufacturing error on that boot. When I installed mine it was difficult but doable, I certainly had to fuss with it to get the boot on.
