I like stopping it because it is not suppose to be there and I do not like it getting burnt onto the back side of my valves. There is no positive side to having that oil vapor in that location.The ford performance one didn't seem to catch anything yet. I've only had it about a month. If you put a catch can on the PCV line it will catch oil the stock system mises. I would say the stock system lets an adequate amount of oil into the intake manifold but it could be worthwhile to stop some of it from getting past if you're into that sort of thing.
I'm am ASE master technician since 1993. The bottom line is this item in not necessary for most drivers, and not necessary for lower performance engines. Turbocharged engines that constantly run at high rpm could utilize a separator, but I don't think there's ever been a failure on a Bronco due to the "problem" this solves. I don't believe it hurts anything, and most likely improves on the factory design, but what you are actually gaining from it is unclear. Not hating on the companies that produce these things, but if Ford could reduce warranty claims by using this part you can bet it would be on every engine they sell.I’m curious as to why this would be necessary. My argument is that it will NOT reduce warranty claims.... I believe it will not have any significant effects until the motor is well over 100K.... It is at that point build up on the valves starts to become an issue.... Some may not see it until 200K... others sooner. But for me, I intend to keep this vehicle until I can no longer drive.... Get one if it would make you feel good. I like IAG, I have their steps. I installed them before my Bronco left the dealership. But I can't see why one of these is needed for a stock engine. My recommendation would be just use good quality top tier gas... Unless you want to tear the heads apart...I'm thinking of getting the IAG AOS for my 2024 with the 2.7. I have about 23K miles so far. Do I need to do anything after installation to "clean up" the time prior to installation?
