Lately we’ve been getting a lot more rain, which means we’ve been hitting muddy trails pretty often. It got me thinking. If you regularly take your Bronco onto dirt roads, mud, or wet terrain, how often do you actually clean your vehicle?

Some off road friends I know wash their rigs right after every trip. Mainly to prevent rust, protect suspension components, and keep mud from drying into places it probably shouldn’t be. Others just let the dirt stay for a while and only clean it once noises start showing up or the mud buildup gets a little out of control. And of course, you know some people feel a dirty rig simply looks more authentic.

So I’m curious how everyone here handles it.

· Do you wash your rig immediately after every off road trip, once a week, or only when it really needs it?
· Do you focus on cleaning the undercarriage, or just give it a quick rinse and call it good?
· For those who run mud or snow often, have you noticed any long term differences depending on how often you clean?

Would love to hear real habits and experiences from Bronco owners here.

I dare not remove it from it's aseptic bubble to be subjected to such barbaric conditions.

Pressure wash at the do-it-yourself place, but I’m usually not in a mad rush. I’m more concerned about cleaning the underside components than the vehicle everyone sees, but when it’s too muddy and filthy I also find it’s hard to get by it in the garage without getting myself dirty. Afterwards I always think, “Looks good clean!” (Which it usually is not!)

I immediately go to semi truck wand wash because they have better pressure and soaps, plus, usually the wand has slight bend 3" from tip makes it perfect to get undercarriage.

It lives outside so super clean is a low priority… I go through the drive through after most runs but if it is really muddy I will get my cheap pressure washer out and hit the underside along with the rest of it…

Hey, I'm cutting them (and any other sponsors) some slack. Most of them also own Broncos. Maybe they're also curious owners like us, or maybe they're looking for some marketing data. Either way, this forum is free because there are sponsors. And just like any other posting on the forum, we can reply or not.

Every time I go out it gets washed when I get home. Not because I’m a neat freak - just so I can look it over and see/fix anything that may have happened.

I remember going out to Bridgeport here outside of Dallas once and it was super muddy. Came back and small football-size mud blobs were falling off from the hose. I can only imagine that stuff weighs a lot. So I try to stop at a car wash there by the park, at least so I don't have to clean my driveway too... lol
