I had Safelite pay me $400 for causing the battery to die and other electrical safety issues that occurred as a result.I would have Safelite replaced the dashboard with a new one. They did the damage they should replace it
Don't overlook nail polish as a potential fix for this. Nail polish comes in an almost endless variety of colors and the small brush makes an ideal application for small blemishes. After over 40k miles, I finally had to get a new windshield.
TLDR: The Safelite installer spilled one drop of Betaseal primer onto my luxurious plastic dashboard.
How do I get the spot out?
I'll add some pics here in a second. The installer was forthcoming and apologetic about the mistake, and hey... mistakes happen. I didn't have a cow on him or anything like that. I love my Bronco and would be happy to get the spot out. He said he tried wiping it off and using paint thinner. That made me cringe a little bit because I know plastics (like the dashboard) don't like solvents. The pic I'll post is what was left after his best efforts - and my effort with a wet microfiber cloth, some elbow grease, and then also a microfiber with isopropyl alcohol.
On the cracked windshield front, I'm pretty chill. I got three years and 40k miles before even a chip... and if you factor in that I drove an FJ Cruiser for 10 years and 140k+ miles with a factory windshield, I've won the lottery in the vertical glass department.

Likewise go to home depot or lowes and pick up a couple swatches of similar colors. Compare and then go back and just get a sample size jar. Try it out and see how it matches. It might take a try or two.Don't overlook nail polish as a potential fix for this. I used nail polish back in the spring of 2022 to "paint" the edges of my hardtop after sealing them to prevent water intrusion and delamination. At that time I had the beginnings of swelling on the raw edges of portions of my hardtop. Once sealed, I applied the nail polish in a matching color. To this day it still looks great......even better than the factory finished edges. Anyway, food for thought.
