Hi all,

I'm seeing multiple posts about this, but my 2023 Bronco is having an issue where the hood sensor is triggering a "hood open" alert incorrectly. This triggers the alarm when parking, and a "hood open" warning on the dash when driving. It's increasing in frequency lately, and doesn't seem to be linked to any particular driving or environmental/weather condition.

Has anyone had any luck dealing with this, or getting help from Ford? I brought my car into a dealer a while ago, but they couldn't replicate the problem and sent me on my way.

Thanks,
Dan

There's an SSM which is more than likely posted on one of the 20 different threads about it. Very common issue and repair.

Is this something the dealer has to do or is it an easy fix I could do? Mine has done this a couple of times and it seems I have to slam the hood for it not to trigger. I'm reluctant to bring it in for this as it is not consistent and can't be easily demonstrated.

I appreciate you linking this. I'd found this prior to my last visit to the dealer, told them about it, and they didn't seem to know what to do with it. Do I need to try another dealer?

If "Replace the hood latch ... part number ..." produces blank stares at your dealer, either talk to someone else or find another dealer service.

Yeah I mean It's a known problem, they should've just replaced the hood latch. If they wont, I would definitely just bring it to a different dealership.
