Hearing Protection Recommendations

Good afternoon everyone,
I enjoy the occasional drive with the hardtop panels off, but highway speeds are a little uncomfortable.
I've been thinking of trying something like the Loop Experience or adjustable earplugs, EARPIECE concert earplugs, Hears One earplugs, or something similar. Overall, an earplug that offers noise reduction without total isolation that I can keep a few pairs of in the glovebox.
Has anyone used these or something similar that they recommend?

Don't think of it as hearing loss. Gotta think of it as a way to not hear the kids & wife complain so much

I can't speak for use while driving because I have never found that noise loud enough to warrant earplugs, but I can vouch for Loop earplugs. After dealing with hearing loss from an illness, I invested in the Loop Switch earplugs, and they have been perfect for me at concerts, live sporting events, demo derbies, and monster truck rallies.

I use the Eargasm earplugs both when the top is on and off at highway speeds. It's just too loud inside. It removes a lot of the wind noise, but you can still hear honks, sirens, motorcycles and other critical road noises. I have the loop earplugs too, but those aren't really that great for what you want to use earplugs for. It's not technically "legal" in my state for using ear protection while driving, but it's safer when you can hear the important noises instead of just wind.

Plain old 32-36db foam earplugs you can get at Walgreens or VIBES High Fidelity Concert Ear Plugs

Not picky on earplugs.

Just remember to turn the bass down if you max out the volume on the stereo when driving at highway speed with the top off…

I try to keep some “courtesy” items in my console, including disposable earplugs, hair ties, and a cap - for passengers who might not know what to expect getting into an open air vehicle.

I’ve never had great luck with earplugs that claim to maintain audio fidelity. Granted, that’s been for music performance in the past, and I’m picky about how things sound. But the orange foam disposable plugs are more comfortable anyway, so that’s what I prefer for open air driving. I tend to view open air at highway speeds a “radio off” scenario.

I've used Mack's silicone ear plugs when on long solo drives. Unlike in-ear plugs, there is zero discomfort because they sit in the outer bowl of your ear. Not a high NRR so you can still hear horns, other vehicles, etc. but definitely good protection.
