  1. The 2023 Shadow Black Base Experience

Stopped for a quick photo beside Ford’s renovated Michigan Central Station.
  2. Torn between tire sizes and cannot decide on my 2-door non SAS 3.73 bronco

285/70r17 BFG KO3 on Black Diamond alloys. 3.73 gears are fine with this setup. I’m wary of going larger due to stress on the transmission/drivetrain. on a 2 door I don’t think it’s necessary (aesthetically) and for my needs off road, the 33” tires provide adequate clearance.
  3. The 2023 Shadow Black Base Experience

One more photo from the July 4th weekend. Rooftop cargo bag installed. Performed well. Minor leak due to operator error - I installed the bag backwards. The zippers encompass three sides of the bag, which has a fourth non-zippered “hinge” end. That sans-zipper side should have been facing...
  4. The 2023 Shadow Black Base Experience

Spent the past few days in Lambton Shores, Ontario. Nice drive up from Detroit, across the Bluewater Bridge into Sarnia and another hour up the eastern shore of Lake Huron. The new (to me) OEM roof rack and Yakima platform made the drive a lot more comfortable. Having all our luggage on the...
  5. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

4-Hi on Ipperwash Beach, Ontario, Canada. Beautiful day.
  6. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Spent the day beaching and cruising along Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada. No pics other than these once we were back at the AirBnb.
  7. 32's vs Skinny 33's

Congrats @B-Dog15 - those looks great on your Bronco. Enjoy! just seemed a little aggressive, but maybe I read your posts wrong. ✌️
  8. 32's vs Skinny 33's

Really making art form of being certain and wrong at the same time, eh?
  9. 32's vs Skinny 33's

I installed a set of Falken Wildpeak MT’s (255/85r16) on my 2 door base when it was delivered. Those tires were relatively quiet for a MT tread, and reviews on various forums suggested that they were more well-mannered and better in snow/ice than other MT tires. An ill-advised (but fun!) trip...
  10. Another Sta-Bar Disconnect Saga

Yes, I think that expectation is misplaced.
  11. Ford rehires ‘gray beard’ engineers after AI falls short

Ah yes, the AI grift. We know it all too well here in Michigan…
  12. Hearing Protection Recommendations (when driving top off)

I try to keep some “courtesy” items in my console, including disposable earplugs, hair ties, and a cap - for passengers who might not know what to expect getting into an open air vehicle. I’ve never had great luck with earplugs that claim to maintain audio fidelity. Granted, that’s been for...
  13. What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

installed an OEM rack and Yakima platform. Nice setup for upcoming summer travels.
  14. The 2023 Shadow Black Base Experience

New [to me] OEM rack and Yakima platform. More pics to come when it’s “under load” for our July 4th travels (to Canada and the Lake Huron shoreline).
  15. Filson is bringing me back to Ford

Amen. I see some pristine Bronco Sasquatches and Raptors in the Trader Joe’s parking garage and entering/exiting the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club. Filson trim just reflecting the actual use case for 4x4s that cost $80,000.
  16. The 2023 Shadow Black Base Experience

Any pics of the KBD flares from the front or rear to show tore poke with the base steelies/255 tires? I like the look from the side.
  17. Skid plate suggestions for non - rock crawler

My base 2 door came with OEM steel front bash plate (part of the Mod Bumper option) and the steel gas tank skids. I added the OEM steel transfer case skid, and an aftermarket aluminum transmission skid from Mabett. I do mostly light off roading (sand, dirt vs. rocks) and this has been an...
  18. Is an electric Bronco in the works for the US market?

Yeah, the EV Error might get a second look. Given the fact that gas prices are starting to…trump…the negative aspects of EV.
  19. 2027 Bronco Changes Spied

They can make incremental changes to “ugly it up” with things like those disgusting wheels. But I’m sure the fit/finish/quality will still be on par with a 2009 Chevy Aveo. So that’s good news, right?
  20. Who hasn't had any cracks with their hardtops?

2023 2-door. Cracks appeared at ~38k miles - just out of warranty. Nice work, Ford! Perfectly engineered and constructed to be “some else’s problem.”
