Has anyone ever seen there fuel tank gauge stay full and gain miles, I went to town yesterday left with 463 on tank drove for over 80 miles got home and is at 466 .

It continually adjusts based on your current driving characteristics. If you are cruising along with minimal load, it can actually increase the miles to empty.

Yeah, on occasion. Float in the tank is analog and will change if you are angling up and down, and the computer DTE calc that comes up with that number also adjusts based on
a) that float reading
b) some current time-averaged (last 50 miles maybe?) MPG

A couple of weeks ago I was on a trail doing mostly 10mph, going downhill the gauge dropped and it read 14 Miles to Empty. Get back on the freeway and level out and it crept back up up to like 93 Miles now that I was doing highway speeds again

I've had this happene before - I started a full tank with 377mi and ended my drive with 430mi to empty. Highest I've seen on a full tank is 512mi to empty... Wish I got a picture of that. I tend to baby my rig when daily driving on pretty flat country roads with like two stop signs between me and my job.

Yes.
The Bronco is looking at the previous tank’s mileage to predict the mileage for the new tank of gas. When driving conditions give better MPG than the previous tank, the Bronco readjusts.

Most modern cars/trucks do this based on driving. My Yukon changes drastically highway driving vs non highway driving.

Wow! I couldn't get '463' miles to empty unless I had 4-5 Home Depot buckets full of gas in the back??

Maybe if you keep driving your gas tank will overflow?

As noted this is a pretty common phenomena. If you've been driving in such a way that your mileage was low, then drive for a while in a style that conserves fuel, the MTE estimate will climb alongside your average MPG. My truck does this all the time, especially after I've been towing or moving trailers around.

My Bronco is wondering if you're talking about kilometers instead of miles...? Because it's lucky to see over 250 on the gauge.

I had around 280 on the gauge when I drove off the lot. Anything over 330, I’m happy with. Just filled up today and saw 353, my record so far.

Mine might have said something around 275 off the lot. These days at around 200 miles I'm looking for the next gas station.
