There is no adjustment. Something is either broken, damaged or not installed correctly
It just pops out. I wonder if it got pushed in too far or incorrectly, causing the misalignment. It was hard to screw up though, even when cutting out the hole in fiberglass fenders.

Could you open it and show us what it looks like inside?
Image attached! It’s been this way since I purchased it new (didn’t know about it till my first fill up).
The hinge itself seems to just be plastic, so I’d expect there to be a visual if it was bent. I’d try popping it out and just check all around where it clips in to the fender to see if it’s seated all the way. It looks like it is from the picture but it’s hard to tell. Our pictures aren’t super useful as the white bronco has ADV fenders and the black bronco, well, it’s black. Little tougher to see.Door hinge:
