If you call Accutune and let them know what you have and what you are adding, they will get you the correct springs. It's not a one-size-fits-all situation; it depends on your weight in the front and rear. It's worth a free call to them; they are the experts. My rig rides excellent on the street and off-road, I could not be happier for how little I spent with them.
yea I've been already talking with them about it on this forum, they have been super helpful getting me out of this mess.

The shop that did the work tried to swap the springs and when we did the preload on the rears were such that the eibachs didn't have any tension, so we decided to not put them on (I really didn't know better). Knowing what I know now I would of had them change the preload to make em work

The nice part about speaking with Accutune is that you learn something because they are super helpful. It's nice to hear you are getting it sorted out.

got this email from Fox today

Seems Fox is unwilling to fix this problem by sending us, who have the issue, the new springs ( not an upgrade imo if the original didn't work out )

Don't feel like giving them more money at this point.

I have Eibach springs / Fox coils in my 2Door. Sounds like they’re the same as discussed above. Before the suspension swap my Bronco weighted 5440 lbs with a full tank.

These are the PN’s for the springs in my shocks - purchased from Accutune. I highly recommend working with Accutune.

So for they’ve been awesome. I had local shop, Colorado Bronco Upfitters, install them for me. CBU was super helpful but it sounded like the shocks were challenging to get set up correctly. CBU had to put them in and remove all the shocks several times to get it dialed. My Bronco has a touch of rake on flat ground and rides very well on & offroad.

Is the rear still too soft? TBD, I haven’t had the chance to go camping since all was installed so I have not loaded up the back with tons of weight yet. Plus I’m planning to add TOR’s HD tailgate reinforcement & adjustable tire carrier. So time will tell. That said I’m very happy with them.

I’m glad to hear Fox is getting closer to releasing their HD spring kit.

Update: that didn’t work out too well.

My first issue was that the Accutune spring spacers for the larger ID Eibach springs did not stay in place. They popped out or rattled. Accutune sent me some replacements and ultimately refunded me for the spring adaptors. Apparently I’m the only customer that has experienced their spring spacers popping out. Full disclosure Accutune did not build my coils. I had a set of Fox coils on hand and decided to go the HD spring route, so I had a local shop swap the springs and install my suspension. No shade on Accutune from me, it just didn’t work out as planned. I do think their spacers could be improved with a slight lip to tuck in under the spring to help them stay in place, but that’s another story.

Second issue happens this weekend. Completely obliterated the front driver shock on Engineer pass. The trail is not hard by any means and I was talking it easy because my buddy was following me in a stock 4Runner. No lockers, no excess throttle, no drama, just easy 4lo climb. Pop! I ended up using two ratchet straps to help stabilize things and limped back to Lake City. Took us about 5.5 hours to get back to town & a 280 mile tow home. My only guess is that I had too much preload. I don’t know if there is a max recommended preload. The shock that exploded still has both of the Accutune spring spacers in place.

The passenger rear is also sitting low now which is weird. The gas tank is passenger side. My truck was level before but now the Passanger side preload collar has approx 1” less preload threads showing versus the drivers side. So maybe it jumped some threads? I don’t know yet. I haven’t been able to pull the wheels off and check things out. Plus I’m only an ”ok” mechanic.

So now I’m in a pickle. I know my Bronco needs HD springs but I’m not really jazzed about keeping my current set up. I don’t blame Accutune or Fox for this situation, I guess this is what happens with new & different set up combinations. I’m not made of money, and of course time is a factor as this is my DD. Fox now has HD springs for the rear, but I do not believe they have front options yet. I’ve debated about stepping down to 35’s but I just got a fresh set of 37’s days before this trip. I don’t know if anything else is damaged but I suspect the CV joints did not enjoy our limp home. At this point my plan is to pick up a set of the FOX HD rear springs but I’m not sure what I’ll do for the front. Definitely going to dial down the preload a bit all around, which means I may have to go back to 35’s…TBD.

I’ve communicated with some suspension experts/ engineers close to these items. It sounds like my preload settings was not to blame. It just looks wicked high because the Eibach HD springs are shorter than Fox’s springs. That said no direct cause has been identified. IMPO sometimes shit happens it’s as simple as that.
