No reason to actually replace those every time. Just inspect it and reuse unless it looks damaged or degraded.
Thanks ill keep that in mind for next time.

I rarely have satisfactory results with Dorman auto parts. Just saying, everything from hydraulic clutch assemblies and door latches was a fail.

I have had the Dorman on mine for 5 years and running, it has been great with no leaks. I also put one on my 25 f-150 on the first oil change. I have sold many of these and have never had a customer come back and complain!

Dorman products are great. As with any replacement part, a lot of times people do not replace the related parts along with the main part. Old related parts will put extra stress on the new part and cause premature failure regardless of the brand name.

They're not skid plates (and I wouldn't go off road thinking they're going to protect you). From what others have said, they're on there to prevent things from coming up off the road, maybe like sticks or the odd pebble, plus as a splash guard perhaps.

Most modern CARS have the plastic underneath because it improves aerodynamics and hence fuel milage. BUT on a brick? seems almost more designed for appearance under the guise of aerodynamics. But it probably does help with fuel milage. It is all about that laminar flow under the vehicle.

I changed my oil yesterday and decided it would be the last time I endure "splash down". When done, came inside and immediately ordered the Ronin plug off amazon.

I put one on after my first oil change. Makes oil changes much more manageable. Great investment if you’re doing your own oil changes. When I had my F150 and Ranger, I used the Fumoto valve. It worked great as well but oil drain was a little slower. Worth the trade off for a cleaner experience.
