Seems everyone is getting the Ford Peformance Tune. Has anyone tried the JB4. TBH the JB4 looks better but the Ford Performance obviously keeps warranty. I believe the JB4 you can just unplug and there is no sign of it, so that seems good too.
Thoughts, comparisons?

I ran both for a while before switching to a custom tune.
JB4 first because it was more power, then added the FP tune mostly for the transmission tuning.

Huh, so you used both in conjunction without issue? I thought it was one or the other not both. :unsure:

yea that is really interesting. I guess with the Pro Cal you can pick and choose changes.

Yep had them both in conjunction for a long time, never had any issues. Kept the JB4 on Map 3.
Now you got my attention, since I'm basically FBO at this rate and want moar than the FPT offers

I have the JB4 from you guys and might add the ProCal just for the transmission functions. Meantime I have more about my BMS JB4 that is worth it to share:
  1. Boost can be adjusted at the shift points - not a transmission tune but worth something.
  2. They will read your uploaded logs and suggest changes, to help customize the tune to your vehicle.
  3. There is an aggressive pedal function - I am testing this against my Pedal Commander
  4. They now let you pre-program which tune to link to which GOAT mode you select
  5. Very helpful customer service at Burger.

I run both. The JB4 makes considerably more power. They both do different things and are a good combination to run on a 2.3l but if you have a 2.7 I would just buy a custom tune.

I'm liking that JB4 on the 2.3, especially for the manual. I'm like going to go with that instead of the Procal since Ford hates us self-shifters.

A year ago - I'd have said FP tune, it has a trans tune for the auto tranny folks, and rev matching for those that aren't. And it included the ASS memory, which was a nice benefit. And something about a vague hint of warranty support, but I wouldn't ever hang my hat on that.

Today - ASS is out. Rev Matching is out. It's an inferior engine tune that happens to have a transmission tune for auto folks. Once you install it your digital record (Ford OASIS) lights up like a Christmas tree, so you can't claim ignorance and pretend you never installed it. I'd go JB4 all day long now.

I guess I will make sure not to update my FP tune so I don’t lose rev matching. I’ve grown to like it.

Does JB4 have the rev matching and ASS?
