I have never done any engine mods to my '24 Raptor, but I've considered the Ford Performance one, but that's because the way I understand it, the warranty will still be intact as long as the dealer does it or ASA or something. Regardless, is that tune worth the money?

Are there other tunes out there that are easy to do without killing the warranty?

Outside of the tune, what are the other top 1-2 ways to get more juice out of the 3.0 without breaking the bank or breaking the rig?

Appreciate any advice.

So as far as the 'warranty' is concerned, I'd talk directly with your dealer.

I am a professional tuner and have been tuning ecoboosts for roughly 10yrs.

I recently released my tuning option for bronco raptor (tested on my own truck for a while).

When you swap the tunable ECU into the truck, you also keep your old ECU, so you can always go back to stock if you want to. Its a really simple process, and I am there to guide you along the whole process.

It works with your factory 3 yr/36k warranty when installed by an ASE or RSE certified tech.

ASE is “Automotive Service Excellence”, and is the primary service technician certification used in the USA. RSE stands for “Red Seal Endorsement” and is effectively the Canadian version of it. Most professional automotive techs have one of those certifications or will obtain it at some point in their careers (including those at your dealer).

They’re probably just looking for the tune to be installed properly. They don’t want people to go flashing their ECU/PCM, end up doing something wrong, and then show up at the dealer asking for warranty repair. But either way, you can talk to your dealer or call up Ford to get specifics about how it impacts your warranty.

Third party tunes are obviously not covered by Ford. But many third party tunes come with their own warranty.

Does the ford tuner also use a separate eco or is that the way around doing an ecu swap is to use the ford tuner???
I’m not doing much to mine, but the hp gains are, well…….interesting. Will do a high flow air filter.
Just want more turbo/wastegate noise.

For those reluctant to swap ECUs in a new truck, a video of the start-to-finish process including any required SW updates would be helpful and reassuring. And also what exactly is required to return to 100% stock.

thanks

.

There is no way around swapping unfortunately, it has to be done with an aftermarket tune.

But you have no ceiling with an aftermarket tune though either!

This is an excellent idea, I sure will. Thank you!

Extreme Terrain is claiming the ProCal they are selling comes with a tune programmed to work with the 2025s. I haven’t seen that its been released for the 2025s yet - can anyone confirm its available?

For what it's worth, I got my tuned last week with the Ford Performance option. The dealership actually offered other options like a Whipple and something else, but I didn't want to run the risk of needing service elsewhere and not being covered.

Further, I'm not trying to turn a Bronco on 40s into some sort of race car. Any more aggressive of a tune and I would be worried about the load I'm putting on other components. I just wanted a little boost.

My take on it. If you're looking for a massive boost you might be disappointed, but you can definitely tell it has more power. For me, that's worth $900 or whatever it was and still know I'm covered on a warranty.

Well Ford is the one that makes it, and they say 21-24, so highly doubt extreme terrain is correct.

Thanks. I didn’t think I’d seen anything out there saying it had been updated.

Same exact story and timeframe. My experience as well.

Except for "factory blessed" tunes such as the Whipple (available for the Bronco Raptor).

There were many, that said long ago, that the Bronco Raptor ECU would be cracked "soon". I disagreed and it seems I was correct.

Make sure you run 93 as well. The power jump, tuned or not, from 91->93 is about 2/3rds what you get from the FPT!

A related side note: Official Ford documentation does let you know that the quoted standard factory peak hp of 418 requires 93 to get this value.
