Afternoon Bronco Aficionados,

New member and hopefully soon, new (to me) Bronco owner. Long and short is that I’m in the market for a new (to me) vehicle. I’ve really been wanting a 6th Gen Bronco, but I’m not in the position for my dream build/spec right now. Local dealer to me has what seems to be a good deal on a First Edition two door, with the 2.7L engine, and low miles. My question for the group is what would a potential buyer need to look at on these early edition models? I feel pretty well versed on the trim packages and the options that are available on the First Editions (at least to the point of knowing where it would fit on the 2025 line up), but I’m more curious to see if anyone can help me educate myself on potential problems or issues I need to really look at before I go look at this one over the weekend. Apologies if there are threads to this previous to mine, but this place is a wealth of information, and I’m on a limited timeline with not a huge amount of free time to surf every thread on the site.

All help is appreciated, all jokes laughed at, and all ripping on “that was already posted” will be taken jovially and with due humility as a new member.

First edition is really just a fully loaded Badlands with a different sticker on the fender.
If you find a Badlands with hoss 3.0 for a similar price and condition (miles, wear, stuff like that), personally, I would jump on that instead. (2024+)
Later years have some minor upgrades here and there as well, like a stitched dashboard.

I think there was a Cam Phaser issue on those 2.7 as well.
If you can get them to pull an Oasis report that will tell you if they had any service done.

I'm a 2Dr First Edition owner. Mine has been totally solid and I love it more than any other vehicle I've owned, but yes, make sure that VIN's recall notices have been satisfied. Also, check the hard top for issues.

What color?
If it is Lightning Blue, buy it and store it. LOL
Very rare color only available on a rare (limited) trim package, FE ... and it's a rarely chosen 2 door as well.

(of course, as I'm typing this @Lucky Nut posts that jewel up in his avatar, LOL )

Newer Broncos that have Sasquatch have a better steering box ... HOSS 3.0 as they call it (??? 24's and 25's ???)

That’s a potential issue on all 2.7/3.0’s

Mine has been flawless, except for the known light switch and wiper issues.
If you are comfortable with the deal, go for it...

I would if the price is right. I would not pay a premium because it’s a first edition.
If it’s a good deal sure.

OP................ two-door or two-many-door?

Post pics if you have some.................... that is RULE #1 on this forum.
You can't talk about a new Bronco, new modification, etc. without posting a picture.... we love photos.
Most of the folks here grew up in the 70's & 80's where we did NOT read smut magazines for the articles, and we haven't changed.... we need pictures, pictures & pictures!

Oh, and congrats once you get it............... they are a BLAST to drive!!!

If it’s lightning blue, yes. Anything else, no.

What they said!☝
If it's any color other than Lightning Blue, skip it. Don't know if it will matter to you, but the First Editions are early enough that they don't have provisions for the OEM rear sway bar. The frame mounts for the rear upper control arms also did not get additional support added until after the First Editions were built...so, those are a potential failure point. These issues affect most all 2021 models, not just First Editions...but if you have a First Edition, you can bet you won't have rear OEM sway bar provisions and weak upper control arm frame mounts.

Two door v6 w/sasquatch? Buy it now, but how much? No more v6 2 doors unless you buy too expensive Stroppe…
