Yikes. I didn’t realize you needed to have the headlights on to use the fog button. The more I dig into this I’m happy just keeping it on an AUX switch - I’m just out of low amp switches (3-6) for any additional lights…I might have a factory Front/Rear Fog switch available…
Yeah..someone mentioned that there may be a setting for Fogs with DRL which would work for me I think.

I just want to be able to turn my factory fogs on anytime the Bronco is running, regardless of the headlight (like when off roading in the daytime)

Question for you all in this thread..with all the retrofitting you did in this 68 page thread....

1) has anyone figured out how to turn the fogs on with the headlights off? (Forscan tweak)

2) is there a place to tap into the fog light power wire so I could hook up an upfitter switch as a secondary power in addition to the factory fog light switch?
This post talks about it, I think you'd want 0202 in BdyCM 726-42-01 to use the fog switch, and to have Fogs on with DRLs, but the fogs will be on anytime the DRL's were on, you wouldn't be able to turn them off separately.

If you wanted to be able to use an Aux Switch and the Fog switch, that could be done, But you'd want to put a blocking diode in the circuit that goes back to the Body control Module, otherwise you would feed voltage back ot the computer when the aux switch was on, and that could be very bad for it!

Yeah I'm not looking to change the way my fog lights work. I'm seeing the line for 726-38-02 which mine is currently disabled. I'm searching right now to see if I can find out what enabled actually does.

If you watch my video I just posted on here yesterday from Youtube you will see where to Tap into the Factory Fog wires. I used *Posi-Taps* (See video at 0:44 secs) to tap the wires and wrapped them up in friction tape to keep them protected. I used a Blue Wire to the Factory Brown wire, and Yellow to the Factory Yellow/Org wire. I figured Blue to Brown sounded good since thats all I had and I didn't want to use black or red etc.

My harness has 3 sections split up: Tap Wires from C203 to a 2pin Deutsch connector, next section is Split off Driver connector w/ Pass connector & Ground point, then Passenger Section wires. This way I can replace anything by sections or replace the lights later on. I also added Deutsch connectors to the PIAA fog lights since they only had m/f bullet connectors.

Also, you will see my Fogs come on without the headlights on so just the Running lights/Markers are on. I enabled this using Forscan.

I don't think you can have it connect to an Aux switch and the Fog power unless you have back lighting built into the fog lights that you want powered via the fogs. The Fogs get powered from the BCM module so there is no fuse to look for etc.

I don't recall all the codes, I know you can enable the settings for DRL and other options as well which I did for mine.

PIAA Fog Lights I used via my Amazon links:

The Posi Taps I used:

You can Enable the Fogs to be on with just the Running Lights and even with them off I believe. If you see my install video I posted you will see them on with the DRL/running lights.

I forgot to see if my fogs will turn on with the main light switch off. I will have to check after work today.

Thanks I'll take a look. I have factory fog lights already, so I'll have to look into the settings and see what Else I can find.

I mean if the headlight switch is set to auto, and I press in on the dial to turn the fog lights on, I feel like they should come on whether or not the headlights have decided to come on or not.

Question for you: So how do you turn your fogs off and on? Are you using the factory switch to toggle them as needed,or do they just stay on all the time with your lights?

Yes I use the automatic on and use the fog button on factory switch to turn them on. I didn't change the forscan code to remember what last setting was. Once I turn the lights off completely the Fogs remain off once you turn the lights back on. I'm sure you can change that but I don't mind it.

Looks like I found the factory fog light wire so I won’t need to splice in after all now I just need to create a harness to connect the mabbet, taking the wires for both white lights Dorman to factory molex.

Need to replace this female as it’s the wrong size with the factory fog female

Then make a dorman pigtail male. Then pull the white wires from the fog light dorman attach it to the female Dorman and all should work I believe

I actually just did this. Made the harness myself. I have the white light going to the factory switch and then I have the amber light going up to the aux 3 switch. Best of both worlds. Dont forget the updated switch with the fog light button and the forscan update to turn on the fog light option. Cheers.

You harness looks much cleaner than mine, I sent Amber to Aux 6, and white to factory fog switch, although I do have the front/rear fog switch, I will just reserve that for future use. I do think its great to have it setup this way, I enabled DRL and turn and it works well.

Well my ocd made me re-ziptie the wiring for the fog lights. I noticed the heat coming from the intercooler so I moved the main harness splitup section where C192 would be right behind driver headlight. Also got some good pics behind the wheel well for anyone who wants to see more.

As a reminder you WILL need to enable the fog circuit in Forscan with the Modular Bumpers AND you will need to buy the fog switch. If you upgraded from a Modular Bumper from a Plastic/Capable bumper, buy the harness for the plastic/capable since that is what the factory wiring will be.

And for your Raptor folks reading this, yes we DO have pigtails for you JUST IN CASE you are reading this and going "man I wish they made some for my truck"

Raptors use a modified version of the Capable Bumper which have TWO pigtails on each side that are DIFFERENT from the regular Broncos with capable bumpers. This is the same pigtail Ford uses on the F150 Raptor actually which is why we've had them available for a while

Update on my issues-
I’m getting power through the fogs switch/harness. I can cut the switch on and off and the harness works fine. When I plug the Oracle lights in, the harness has power, if I cut the switch off the power does not return. This happens with only one fog light in the circuit too (unplugging the other two). Every time I plug the lights in, it trips something. Without the lights the circuit works as intended. I’ve asked Oracle for a refund to return the lights and I’ll try something else. Unless anyone has other ideas of what it could be? I even grounded the lights with another wire to ensure proper ground- same thing. So it’s definitely not a FORSCAN issue.

What do you mean by cut the switch off? Which switch, Factory fog switch or Auxiliary switch? If it’s grounded properly lights should switch on/off every time. Not clear on your wiring or setup, but it sounds like you spent time wiring it properly and checking connections so may it is the light assembly.

For anyone running into issues, I recommend taking pictures at each step as you are wiring things and plugging them in, that helps with troubleshooting down the line and could help others here as well.

Cutting the switch off- pushing the fog light button where the headlight switch is. I was going to wire one light per side to the factory harness /fog light switch, then wire the other 2 per side to an aux switch. But I never got that far as the lights never lit up with the factory switch.

What position is the headlight lamp in when you turn the fog switch on? Can you try having the headlights in the on position, turn on the fog light switch, confirm its illuminated in the dash and then check power to the harness?
