Electrical issue?

Left my '22 Wildtrak in the garage for a week, when I came back, the ignition was unresponsive and several of the function warnings scrolled across the dashboard screen. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it with no change to the problem. Anyone else ever have this issue?

I'd check the battery anyway. Your stuff may work, but not the ignition. Also check all battery connections and grounds, plus look at your fuses.

What does the digital battery guage say for voltage?

That's a good bit low. Should be pushing near 14 VDC

Thanks Felix. Ford service tech suggested I jump it off and that might at least get it started, so I'm going to try that next.

Heat can kill a battery. I've had car batteries go bad in August in Texas maybe three times last 20 years? Once couple years back, Autozone replaced it because it was only two years old.

Charge the battery up, you’ll be good to go.

Let me guess, ABS, Traction, Low Battery and maybe even Powertrain faults? It might take a day or two for the system to be completely happy (not go into battery saver mode immediately on shut down).

OK. All those function messages are exactly what I'm seeing. Hooking up a battery charger is the next thing I'll try. So far, nothing I've tried has had any effect at all.

I have a 22 OBX and left it in my garage for 10 days while we where on a trip. Came home and went to start the vehicle and it as dead. No lights no noises just dead. I jump started it and then came the error parade. Finally after a fully charged battery and most faults reset them selves but I had 2 that didn’t. ABS and it was locked in 4 wheel. I had to have the dealer reset those. Have the dealer check it just to be safe. It’s warranty and is a short visit.

I have read several posts of the battery draining after 8 or 10 days. So is it a bad idea to leave a bronco at the airport or parked somewhere if you go on a trip for a week or two and let it sit?

I know I’m in the minority here but I’m am no fan of all the tech on these things that need power 24/7, it’s quite annoying. Is the only way to shut off the parasitic draw to install a battery isolator switch and completely kill the connection to the Bronco?

Maybe that’s the key to not coming back to a dead bronco after 10 days?

I like that idea!!! my last off-roader had a carb and no computer and ran fine with a low battery so this beast is a new world for me.

If I were to disconnect the battery for say 3 weeks. Is there anything that is going to have issues with that in the Broncos computer brain? it doesn’t try to do status checks of it’s systems on some schedule does it?
