For those of you that have one, please tell me about it. Ease of installation, etc. I have a ‘23 Big Bend 2 door with stock exhaust.

I just installed mine. Have a Borla Touring exhaust so was hoping I could drop it in from above but no dice, muffler is too big. I did not actually have to remove the muffler but did have to loosen the clamp and drop it from the hangers to get enough clearance. Even doing that it's not a hard install but make sure you have a 10 mm ratcheting wrench to get the factory heat shield off. I also installed some Dynamat on the trunk area while I was in there.

I had read before that there's very little clearance to the muffler. That is true - mine is basically touching. Comes with a heat shield but I went ahead and bought some 800F thermal tape and wrapped the bottom just to be safe. I'll be honest I was a little nervous but did a few long drives and the box is not warm at all. Seems to be fine.

Overall very happy with it. Got it because I lifted my Bronco and needed a bigger jack. Got a safe jack and it was just a little too big for the cubby. Now fits like a glove with tools, a bigger breaker bar, etc.

I have it. Storing gear in it currently. May relocate my twin compressor there at some point.

dropped exhaust to do it. Helps to have four hands.

Quick update - mine was touching my muffler on the driver's side and the muffler was starting to mark up the heat tape. Bought an adjustable muffler hanger and was able to drop driver's side about half an inch and that did the trick. You might consider buying a couple of adjustable height hangers just in case - I got four for like $15 on Amazon

I had it in mine. Install was easy and gave me a spot not under the hood for the compressor. It was definitely close to the stock exhaust but I ended up changing the exhaust when I added the rock jock sway bar.

I have it, noticed road spray coming through where it's sandwiched together. Gonna take it apart and see about putting a seal around it. Otherwise the extra space is great.

I've got one on my Bronco Raptor. Install was easy, and I like that it's big enough to fit a regular tow strap, jumper cables, and battery booster.

I installed one on my 4 door Badlands. It was an easy install. When I loosened and moved the stock muffler out of the way, I wedged a piece of 2x4 between the asphalt and the muffler to hold it in place, eliminating the need for 4 hands. Same when reinstalling. Easy and relatively quick install. Very satisfied.

Any thoughts on not having the stock heat shield? More cargo area floor heating and maybe less sound proofing... Is there any way to keep the heat shield, maybe lower it or even modify it (cut clearance hole for storage)

Also does it have or need a gasket to eliminate risk of water seeping into cargo area from underneath? If so, any suggestions (silicon caulk, rubber, cork, ...)? I think in the original config, the heat shield might also provide some water splash protection.

Have had it installed without the factory heat shield for a few months now - no issues. Have felt the inside after a long drive and it's just warm, not hot at all. I considered trying to modify to keep the factory heat shield but there was not enough clearance on mine with the Borla muffler

I just bought the Steeda muffler and was thinking about installing both at the same time. I think the aftermarket mufflers are smaller than the stock. I do wish DV8 would of offered a option with a removable locking lid for added security, but no such luck!

Thanks for all the info!

I plan on going with the regular model, not the one with the added air compressor features and I will probably add some sound deadening, maybe the "Dynamat Xtreme Custom Cut Cargo Kit" shown at https://www.extremeterrain.com.

I have been watching this Youtube installation video and it seems pretty straight forward (until I try to do it and it suddenly becomes super hard).

I did the Dynamat Dynaliner at the same time - my son (8) and I did the whole thing in about 2-2.5 hours and that included dropping the muffler. Pics of the Dynamat install below.
