Thinking about getting Mcgard wheel locks but have never had a pair on another car.
I feel like the spare may be attractive to thieves, but am not sure if anyone would try to steal the actual wheels on the truck because of how heavy it is.
Do you use wheel locks on the spare? All 5 wheels?

I don't personally, locks will keep an honest person at bay but Google how quickly a real thief can get wheel locks off.

I use the McGard but after watching two different YouTube videos posted on a recent thread about wheels locks I realize how truly worthless they are. I’ll be switching to Advanced Wheel locks soon.

Yes, some Ahole stole my wheels and tires off my Silverado Trail Boss a couple years ago in the hospital parking lot where I work in broad daylight. It’s at least something that might deter some idiot.
Wow! I guess having something big and heavy doesn’t deter!

I weave a very heavy duty bicycle chain lock thru my spare and carrier. Better than a wheel lock and a thief would need a strong bolt cutter.

I do, but I got them primarily to protect the quick snatch and grab of a $1000 wheel and tire hanging on the back of the Bronco held by three nuts.

I do.

They are the traditional keyed wheel locks and won't stop anyone determined, more just to prevent the occasional "crime of opportunity" with the spare tire on the back.

No. But thinking about putting some sort of lock on the spare.

I worked at a car dealership for 35 years and we had put locks on every new car and yet we still had tires and wheels constantly being stolen off of the new cars. If the thieves have time they will get them. The locks will only stop the non-planned opportunist. I do have a full set on mine , mainly because of the spare but wound up using all five. Plus I ordered a spare key which I highly recommend to all with locks.

A pro can get any wheel lock off easy, no matter how expensive they are.

Plenty of YT videos proving this.

I just use the multi splined Gorilla lugs. They are low profile and will stop any amateur from stealing them, without causing major headaches for me.

My Bronco came with wheel locks by Ford so I’m assuming they’re the same concept as other brands. I think Bronco wheels especially Sasquatch ones are heavier than other typical car wheels so that’s always a plus and a natural deterrent but I would say overall get yourself wheels locks. They are easily removable by thieves but not as easy as no locks at all so that’s a plus

Mine came with Gorillas and I didn't even realize it had a key for the lugs - I took them right off with a standard 12-point 19mm socket. Then I found the key and thought... hmm...

Agreed. A lifetime ago my father taught me "locks are for honest people". Obviously people that steal aren't really all that honest but locks deter the casual thief and, for me, that's good enough. Knowing that determined thieves can steal pretty much *anything* doesn't mean resigning myself to doing nothing (else why lock your home?).

Non-Bronco example: I still have and use the discontinued line of Cobra Link motorcycle lock on my Electra-Glide. That's a super badazz lock and a very heavy motorcycle. *Real* thieves don't bother with the lock they instead have a pickup truck or van and some burly dudes that just heave the whole thing into the truck/van and take off - within a minute. The damage done to the bike is immaterial to them. Does that mean I shouldn't lock my 'glide? Not to me, at least.

I opted for the factory wheel locks. No doubt there's better options out there if you don't already have the factory ones but I figure the thieves that can circumvent the factory ones can probably do the same for the competition. I'm way more worried about the people that steal the *truck* than I am the wheels.
