Update.
Anderson Composite hard top finally arrived and installed. Also swapped the steering stalk for rear wiper was successful in forscan to enable rear wiper and washer control but no dice on rear defrost. I have heated mirrors and steering wheel but no voltage to the rear defrost grid when buttons are activated. Think the HVAC control needs to be swapped like you said then enabled in forscan.
Does your HVAC have the R on the mirror defrost button?

Dang. Didn’t realize they made the advance HVAC without it. Jeez. Ford made this more difficult for everyone involved.

Yeah swap it out and you'll be good to go after programming

I know. And being in Canada I would like to have the rear defrost. So looks like only option is to invest for the appropriate HVAV control.

See post above for one closer to $300. Try using FORD10 at check out to see what that gets you.

It’s m2dz-19980-b for those of us with Standard Equipment.

I should have said $400. But, still. If you need to get FDRS programming probably closer to $500.

I haven’t decided it’s quite worth it. Waiting on some salvage parts sites to start offering it.

For those of us with standard package (single climate) controls - it seems to me that the F150 part should work…I had a few shady salvage guys try and sell me one with reused photos from the internet - but, new they’re only $80-90.

Thanks for @flip and some digging on his end.

It’s a $100 gamble. No returns on electrical/tried or used parts from any OEM vendor. Understandable.

Anyone with more electrical/Forscan/FDRS knowledge that can chime in? To be honest, I’m terrible at reading those electrical diagrams.

I’ll take one for the pre-prep kit team.

The F150 number you have is an engineering pn which translates to ML3Z-19980-N then supersedes to ML3Z-19980-P. Manual climate control with rear heated window.

It looks like the connectors are the same, CAN network is going to trigger the relay in the battery junction box to provide power.

Did you do programming in FDRS too?
When did your order the Anderson Composite hardtop ? and how long did it take you to receive it ?

Looks promising. So, the only difference that I can tell are the pin for plow and the pickup truck icon instead of the Bronco. Which, do any of you have experience changing/removing buttons from controls? I want to assume it’s just a gentle trim tool - pull straight out - kinda thing. I attempted it and it seemed the top portion unclipped easily enough. But, I didn’t want to push it and break it. I’ll go ahead and plug it in and see if it works first.
