I'm starting to think about that intercooler that mounts higher to set the winch between the frame rails then build my own bumpers front and rear. Getting real tired of banging my rear tow hooks off rocks too.
Maybe even bumpers I can sell...![]()
I am sort of lost on where these go. I have not taken my bumper off yet so I am trying to figure out before I pull the trigger on the RC high mount what I will need to make it better and safer to use.Oooh baby

but my prototype is done and I'm going to install it in the next few days.
Oooh baby

That is likely the best plan, something that centers the pull within the frame and also doesn’t block the front camera would be awesome. I’m not super excited about replacing the intercooler due to potential warranty implications later.
I like the look of the cradle behind the Lobo WNC winch bumper and it doesn’t require moving the intercooler, but I don’t care for the aesthetics of the outer shell and my new in box M-8000S wouldn’t fit. I’m not sure if their cradle triangulates to somewhere beyond the frame horns. Something like this cradle that could keep the mod bumper would be interesting.

I've been eyeballing the RC bumper, and I think with the high mount IC and radar relocation, coupled with a similar winch mount, that IC intake our RC bumper has could be converted to work just like that. You'd get a (mostly) hidden winch that doesn't affect clearance at all, potentially with the ability to reach the freespool lever, as well as pulling from the center of the frame. It's just potentially a bit limited with the size of the winch you can mount.
That looks proper. Do the bolt holes match up to the LOD bolt holes? (So I could remove the LOD brackets and swap these on when you start selling them)Oooh baby

They sure do.That looks proper. Do the bolt holes match up to the LOD bolt holes? (So I could remove the LOD brackets and swap these on when you start selling them)
I would be in for a set. They sure do.
What would make this a super model of the year is if it had the same dog ears at the bottom as is the top.Oooh baby

Agreed, but at some point making the frame horns indestructible just pushes things to the next weakest point. The accordion section of the frame becomes the next weak point. On the Bronco5G Autofab sold a kit to plate the accordion section. I don’t think most here would want to potentially mess with the airbag calibrations by making that mod. What would make this a super model of the year is if it had the same dog ears at the bottom as is the top.
Well if you read the whole thread you wont be lost. Also I keep seeing reference to LOBO but when I look them up I can't find a website. If you are going to be selling these, or need someone to test the out I am in for a set.
