Right, some of my same reasons in Houston - and wheeling out West in heat or altitude - esp. given my tune and added boost.

I have the NGK 1-steps in from mile 1, look good when pulled for inspection, but the Ruthenium sound like a step up and I'll be able to compare idle and performance once upgraded.

I'm a big proponent of NGK Rutheniums as well. Generally a spark plug is a spark plug as long as they're gapped correctly but the NGK's have provided a smoother idle and seem to last longer on every high performance application I've tried them on.

Always check gap out of the box, factories don't always get them set correctly. Use a proper tool to set plug gap as needed.

this is all great information! Thank you for the help and advice! I ordered a set from Goose tuned. That said can you all verify the gap needed? Again I’m running the Ford Pro Cal Tune currently on my 2024 Bronco Raptor. Thank you all again

Stock gap would be fine, whatever that is.

My Rutheniums arrived today. Going to try and install them Saturday. Haven't really wrenched on the Braptor yet so I took a look over everything tonight in the engine bay. Holy hell. Ford didn't make it easy, did they? Looks like I'll need to remove a ton of stuff up top to make it happen.

I just did mine last week. All 6 took about 30 minutes and didn’t need to remove anything. Overall its one of the easier set of plugs Ive done.

Just need some good extensions. A swivel head ratchet helps too.

Really? Hell it looked like there was a ton of stuff in the way, mostly on the passenger's side. Look like the cross-engine intake tube needed to be removed. Dunno, maybe I just need to get a ladder and look from above. Sucks being 6'3" and you're still not tall enough to work on the Braptor comfortably from up top.

I found the passenger side to be easier than it looked for sure. I did have to use my 3 foot ladder to get it done.

The foam cover for what looks like the high pressure fuel pump doesn’t need to be removed as it might look. You should be able to remove the COPs without touching it ans getting the plugs with a long extension to get you above the intake tube. I used a few extensions and the added wobble helped sneak by the tube. I did loosen the one nut holding the tube on that side so i could nudge it a little.

way easier than fords transverse v6 ecoboosts where you are doing the back 3 plugs blind.

Appreciate the tips! I have a ton of extensions so I should be good there.

131 inch pounds is correct torque spec? Seems kinda light but there's no gasket to crush so...

Whew. Just got done. I kid. But seriously, found the plug swap rather annoying. I removed the upper intake tube and the foam cover as it was easy enough.

I have to say it again, love the Ruthenium plugs. It idled so much smoother right from the first spark. No cold misfires either.

Plugs almost looked a little lean but you can't tell squat from plugs with 16K miles on them.
