Bronco Raptor - Daily Driving Concerns?

Current Bronco Badlands SAS owner, test drove a Bronco Raptor today and loved it but have some questions for those of you who daily drive raptors.

The Bronco SAS is wide as is and the Raptor is obviously much wider than that. What is your experience with daily driving? How is parking in "normal" parking spaces between other cars? Any height troubles with parking garages?

Open to any and all feedback - give me your pros and cons of daily driving a Braptor! Thanks

The width difference is real once you convert. I did the same thing and ended up selling the Raptor. Don’t get me wrong I liked it a lot but there just really wasn’t enough to justify it versus my Badlands. Parking isn’t that bad it just overall feels so large. It’s a cushy daily driver though but I found it noisy on the highway and the gas mileage of course was a bit worse. It’s a pick-me vehicle in my opinion

For what it is and what it can do, the Raptor is a very good daily driver overall. That said, the driving experience will be based in large part on the locales that it is driven, i.e., open roads and freeways vs. bumper to bumper urban commuter traffic. The rearview mirror should be switched out for the type that has a camera if you are not buying one that is OEM. The width limitation can also detract on various tight or tighter offroad situations. I got mine coated with PPF and take it where it was designed to go even if it means some pinstripes along the way.

MPG will not be as "good" as the regular broncos of course, but economy is not why Raptors are purchased. That said, based on the topography I drive, and the fact that I maximize the use of cruise controI and drive the speed limit, I average just under 18 MPG. For the weight of the vehicle and the tire size, etc., I never would have expected mileage that high. However, if driven mainly in stop and go situations, it will yield about 14 MPG.
And talking about tires, the stock KO2s don't grab and sling rocks and gravel like my Badlands tires did. And they are pretty quiet overall-great tires.

You will need to ensure proper clearance ahead of time if you plan to take it into underground parking garages, which I try and avoid if possible. The turning radius of the Raptor is remarkably good. I have 35k on mine with mostly daily miles augmented by several trips to Moab, Anza Borrego, etc,. All are trouble free miles and no regrets about the purchase. It is the funest vehicle I have ever owned bar none.

The answer is yes the width is a concern, as is the height. I went from a '24 Wildtrak, which I loved, to a '26 BRaptor, which I also love. Since you have now driven a BRaptor, you know how fantastic the engine, suspension, seats, etc are. But things like the ATM lane at my bank are so narrow that I now park and get out to use the walk-up ATM because I don't want to risk scuffing a fender. A parking garage that I used to drive into regularly is listed with 1" less clearance than the BRaptor so I can't drive into it any more. And parking at the grocery store can be tricky because the spaces are a little narrow at mine.

But I will say that after a few hundred miles, I was able to sort of get used to it and it's not really much of a concern. I am lucky enough to have several cars so, depending on my destination, I can use one of the others if the BRaptor isn't a good fit (hah). The upcoming Bronco Filson is 100% on my radar because it's the Bronco Raptor engine with the the normal size fenders and Fox shocks plus an upgraded interior. I think it's going to be the sweet spot.

Mines a Daily…..Ya it’s a little wider and taller than other Broncos, but I have not had any problems with parking anywhere. Just double check clearance signs at garages. I have found a few random road lanes that are a little narrower than most so need to be more aware of keeping it between the lines. I average around 15mpg in town and freeway at 75 or slower around 20mpg. 80mph speed limits bring it back to about 18ish. Fits in normal home garage just fine. You may come across tight parking spaces but no biggie really. I see your in LA area so it may be a bit more tight for you. I find most parking spots in LA area seem to be smaller than most cities.

Raptor trimmed vehicles are amazing for the drive to work. (This one now has more travel than a raptor. More on that later)

No downside. Much nicer driving experience than any standard Bronco. Better insulation, doors close better (not sure why), higher quality materials, more power, much larger brakes, more towing capacity, better cooling system, stronger axles... yeah no downsides.

Get fiberglass and you can narrow up the body to not have issues off road. Our 2dr with 37s and zero offset wheels is 81" vs 86" (outside of tire budge).

Daily drive mine in urban big city environments including occasional jaunts to the next city for a 210 mile round trip. Other than gas mileage, I have zero concerns and I drive in sometimes HEAVY traffic, stop and go, etc...

Height with say a roof rack can be a concern and generally I look to see if parking garages are 6'7" or greater. Your antenna will tell you as well! I rarely park in garages though so it really hasn't been an issue. I had one garage that was really close.

But overall it's a great commuter and like someone else said, a digital rear view camera helps. It's comfortable, rides well, the adaptive cruise is great as is the steering and handling.

I back up into parking spaces day in and day out. The width does make you pay attention but it's really not an issue per se.

I've seen mpg ratings from 19.8 all the way down to 13.2 on my longer journeys. If you're driving into 40mph headwinds, expect the latter.

She still gets dirty although I have to drive pretty far these days to do any off-roading. Currently caked in mud thanks to the heavy rains and flooding two weeks ago.

Sitting here annealing brass (like watching paint dry) and looking at the Braptor thinking I should wash it. So yes, it fits in most garages. My wife has a mid-size SUV and there's room to get between the vehicles but admittedly, it's a 3-car so...

I've been daily driving my Braptor since beginning g of may and almost 3000 miles. You get use to it's size. I am throwing it around like I almost did in my Porsche's. The BFG's sure make a lot of tire squeal though...LOL

This. I went from a 500hp sport car to the Braptor and the chassis dynamics are actually fantastic, with the tires being what holds it back.

I daily mine. It is wider and taller but coming from a full-sized pickup truck, it wasn't that much different. I would say it is easier to daily than a big pickup because of the relatively tight turn radius. The only thing I can't do is take it to a car wash. It's too tall and the tires are too wide to fit, at least in the car washes in my area.
