Which is a better option?

Simple 3-inch extension adapter kit from Amazon VS
$117 safe jack kit.

More specifically, should I spend the extra $120-$130 (after taxes) for the more expensive safe Jack kit
To give me the extra little height to be able to slide my jack stands under while changing a flat?

I'm about half an inch from touching frame (Front)
*Bottle jack is fully extended
.

Badlands (Non Sas)
3 in lift. Eibach 2.0
35 tires

Think you should just save some money and head to the nearest Home Depot and get them to cut you a thick block of wood. Sand it, then call it a day. Wider than the base of the jack should make it a bit safer.

Think the block method has worked for, I don't know, maybe 50+ years.

I use a few pieces of 1 x 6's, cut to about 8" long stacked under the jack to give it extra lift. Any wide boards will do. I use them under the factory jack...works perfectly lifting without fully extending the jack.
"Keep It Simple, Silly!"
Good wood blocks give you the height. Also a more stable base for when you're working on an irregular surface--like a trail. Why pay $100+ for something made from Chinesium?

I appreciate the feedback. Definitely seems to be the cheapest and easiest option.

I can sense a little sarcasm and that lasts sentence of yours.
But it's a cheap price to pay for the simple solution you help me with 👌

Thanks again

I've been looking into these as well. I'd prefer to use an adapter over using a block of wood under it since my bottle jack top surface is flat and slippery, so I'm hoping someone can chime in on one of those kits.

I agree that the rear could be a little sketchy using a bottle jack, but the blocks of wood are still the best way, just get a cheap adapter like this one Here

100% wood blocks under the jack. 2x6 or 2x8s stacked, for a nice and wide platform.

Unless it screws into the top of the jack and is weight tested and secure I wouldn’t put anything on the top there, but no issues stacking stuff underneath as long as it’s wider than the base of the jack itself

Does the top of this bottle jack not screw out for extra height like on every bottle jack I’ve ever seen?
And yes keep a block of wood with it. If you need a roadside tire change that bottle jack needs a wider base for safe use off the pavement.

That is what I could not understand. The BJ on that 8T extends another 3”. Still may need wood though.

Well, always. Sarcasm is the Bronco6G way. :)

Jokes aside, I wouldn’t suggest something that wasn’t safe and tried and true. I know companies come up with all sorts of gadgets to add hight at the top, but a higher base just works and can support the weight of the vehicle. Get them to cut two pieces for you in case one gets lost or forgotten someplace.

I agree he will still need blocks since he has suspension droop to overcome also.

I use the 12 ton version of this jack in my trail kit and it just BARELY lifts the front enough to get the tire off (base suspension, 33" KO2s). I throw a piece of wood and it helps a lot.

As far as the rear, I highly recommend the Bottle Jack Buddy (https://bottlejackbuddy.net). Cradles the rear axle really well, I use it routinely as part of my tire rotation setup.

Thank you. I'll look into the Jack buddy you recommended 👍

I'm always down with a little sarcasm.
I throw it out any chance I get myself lol

I'll definitely look into getting two pieces so I can have a backup.
