I talked to my dealer about it amongst other things. He said that it was what he was told about the Squatch package. I primarily asked him if they would have a floor model so when I go into the ordering phase. They will. I then started asking other questions like the Squatch package. He said in order to get the clearance and articulation of the tires, a lift of 3 inches was needed. I also saw a video from another dealer in Alabama say the same thing.
I've never had a salesperson fail to make-up an answer on the spot to any question they were asked, regardless of how absurd or non-credible it was.

No salesperson has the correct technical details at this point, they have no connections to the Ford engineers to know the correct answers. Most on this forum know 100 times more than most salesperson will ever know.

From my experience, Dealers are the last place you want to get your info from.
Ok so I looked into it a little more. If the base 4door model height is 73 inches and the Wildtrak is reportedly 78.6 inches, then there is a 5.6 inch difference. The base characteristics are with 30 inch tires and Wildtrak is 35 inches. So height difference without lift would only be 2.5 inches from tires alone. That leaves basically 3 inch difference. Now, I have not seen anything official on the height of the Wildtrak that makes sense to me. I am going off what was reported, but the math would support the reported height of a 3 inch lift was included.

I will ask this question to the chassis team lead.........
The exact question I have is if the Bilsteins are the same, where exactly does the extra 1/2” (over the tire) of height come from?
Hi @Phil_Is_My_Middle_Name, while your asking him about the Bilsteins, can you please find out how the daily driver ride comfort is compare to the Base shocks/dampers?

Second, can you ask him how the Bilstein zones and valving are setup to handle the daily driving paved surfaces vs. off-road?

Sort of goes with this thread too, so I will quote myself to show where I am coming up with my question:

The exact question I have is if the Bilsteins are the same, where exactly does the extra 1/2” (over the tire) of height come from?

Spacers? Leveling?

Also does Squatch add bumpstops to limit uptravel?

(Or is it all tire — MTs bigger than ATs?)
Hmmm - analysis is needed:

315's are 1.66" taller than 285's. So that is 0.83" in height.
Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.59.18 PM.png

The Wildtrack is 1.4" taller than the Badlands, so there is an extra 0.57" more than the tire height would suggest. (taller coilovers? difference in top heights: Modular Hard Top Shadow Black-Painted vs Hard Top (2-Door) Molded-in-Color Carbonized Gray?)

Also it is 3" wider than the Badlands, where the tires are 1.18" wider each on 8.5" vs 8" wheels. (So I am guessing up to 2" in width are tires. What is the extra 1"? (flares? Well the track width is 1.9" wider, so .25" for the wider wheels, and .59" for the wider tires x 2 = 1.68". Maybe the wheel offset is different like the Mojave is to the Rubicon?)

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 3.01.03 PM.png
Did some photo analysis, and here is what I came up with for relative dimensions No Sasquatch Badlands vs Sasquatch Wildtrack:

Bronco ANALysis.webp

So they are getting 1/2" of extra lift somewhere (which is similar to my previous tire and spec height analysis).

You must be looking at figures for the Wildtrak with the roof rack on. Spec sheet says Base at 73"; WildTrak at 75.3" (Softtops)

ok now ....................

TRAIL CONTROL is cruise control for off road

TRAIL TURN unlocks rear locker and locks the inside tire depending on what the steering sensor is telling the ECM which way you are turning.

ONE PEDAL DRIVING which manages speed based on gas pedal in other words it will brake for you so you don't have to switch from gas to brake all the time.

SWAYBAR DISCONNECT is only available on two models BL and FE has nothing to do with Sasquatch.

35's on BL Sasquatch is restricted because of body roll from having disconnect.

This is how I understand it. I have gained this knowledge, not by posting here, but by searching here, and reading what is already posted here.

sorry if this comes off wrong but there is a lot of stuff to figure out and all of this back and forth takes up a lot of time.
yes but it gets clicks and veiws, time on website, all which produce ad revenue and if you look at the ads, they are coming fast and furious!

Can we talk a little about the difference between 4.46 gears and 4.7 (i.e. pros and cons).

I am still confused about the main differences. (talking automatic here btw)

Is it mainly that on the lower end, the 4.7 will be able to roll at lower speeds?
Watch that video posted in this thread on Crawler gear. Should help you with this topic. Made me feel less concerned about either ratio discussed here.

Reduced travel on Sasquarch to accommodate is confirmed. The exact height is still pending? I have also asked a second source same question. The angles for Badlands 33 are not published yet. I am only able to post here at lunch (11am) or outside core hours.

Beginning to think this is thicker tire tread and the travel limit is a bumpstop. Maybe a leveling kit. Tire dimensions:

185/70R17 KO2s class C (stock on Badlands) Dia: 32.8 / W: 11.5
315/70R17 Duratracs class D: Dia: 34.4 / W: 12.7
315/70R17 MT/R class D: Dia: 34.7 / W: 12.7

Anyone in Canada know what the Territory 315/70R17 class C measures?

So assuming the Squatch MTs are a class C tire based on the Duratrac or MT/R there is between 0.8 and 0.95" in height, and 0.6" in width. Since they are an OEM specific tire, they could be the height difference without spacers.

Well until we actual get to see the Bronco, we won’t get true measurements. I just find it difficult that they would put bigger tires without some kind lift to keep clearances the same. I don’t really care. I just want the Bronco.

Please stop saying that. It is not accurate. The very chart in the quote you responded to shows that the Badlands auto Without Sas has 4.46 rear gearing.

I guess how it reduces travel is the big question. Bump stops then no big deal if its something in the shocks thats a big deal.

I'm really caught between on this one. My plan is to get 2in lift and 37s from day one. So I want the extra travel people will say it will rub we can worry about that after. People will tell you 37s want go on a new F250 without a lift I did it for years. Engineering has to add extra they have to make sure it can NEVER rub. Me on the other hand will let it rub then fix the problem. You would be amazed what can be done with a softball and a heat gun.

I'm really leaning toward no Sasquatch don't want the 1in lift in the front and 1.2 lift in the back. (I'm going to add the 2in). I'm sure I will be able to buy the finders separate.

I'm looking hard at getting the beadlocks that only come for the Badlands. Not sure if that is with or without the Sasquatch package.

ok let me try this again. Look at the 2 door base and Wildtrak. There is a 3.3 inch difference. Each has a hard top. If the tire Difference size is 4.3 inches, you get approximate 2.1 inches in height. That means you have a difference of 1.2 inches. So the next question is what is meant by high clearance suspension. In other forums on this site, as well as internet search, there is reported a 1.2 inch lift to make it a high clearance suspension. All that being said, and as I posted earlier, I don’t care what the difference is, I just want the Wildtrak. I just wanted to see what the damn difference because it is all confusing especially comparing hard tops to soft tops. I guess we will have to see. Also, I saw another post on here that the did measure the Bronco w/Squatch. It was 75 inches to the roof line.

The guy you quoted was probably right. The disconnect should have nothing to do with the Sasquatch package’s limited travel.

The sway bar disconnect doesn’t allow more travel. It allows more flexing. The shocks are what allows more travel.

Imagine going high speed through whoops. The 33 tires will have an extra inch of space in the wheel well to travel up and down soaking up the bumps. The 35s will have to be stopped from traveling that extra inch so they don’t hit the top of the wheel wells.

The sway bar end links are connected to the control arms so when one side moves up it will only travel so far until it reaches max twist and then begins to pick up the other side of the suspension not allowing it any more down travel.

try this article maybe explain it better.......

https://www.off-road.com/trucks-4x4...necting-sway-bar-systems-explained-54264.html

If you think I don't understand, ask any drag racer he will say the same. with the sway bar connected you limit the travel of your front suspension it is only allowed to droop so far before picking up the suspension. with the bar disconnected it is allow to droop further, i.e nothing tying it to the other side. I should know I used to drag race my fox body. 60 foot times are better with it disconnected . In the off road world it gives it more flex by allowing tire more travel to stay on the ground.

Not trying to be a dick but I have been there and done that in both off road and drag racing.

there is a sway bar out there that is called the antirock bar now this allows flex/travel but will still have some body roll control.

The more I read this thread and obsess over the details, the less I'm interested in the Sasquatch Package. I feel the Badlands with 33" tires will be more than capable climbing rocks and dirt, more comfortable drives getting to the trailheads throughout the United States, quieter/lower RPM rides overall, and can still get the automatic with the trail assist software.

Now it's a decision between M/T or A/T tires.

Any thoughts on best tire option for the Badlands without Sasquatch?
