I’ve heard or read somewhere the speed limit was for driving through residential areas, so you aren’t high beaming in everyone’s windows. I also think it’s a somewhat bad reason.

AHB works fairly well where I am in the road, the speed limit drives me bonkers as it flicks on and off when I’m in my residential neighborhood. I’m sure the strobe effect is so much better for my neighbors. Yes, I’m an asshole and don’t turn it off and just let it flash everyone every night

I looked around for a while a couple of years ago but couldn’t find anything to disable the speed limit for AHB.

Yeah, that is stupid. So you drop below 30 and it reverts to low beams? Guess Ford Bronco engineers don't go off-road at night. Another Better Idea.
If you're in 'Baja Mode' (running high speeds off-road), you've probably invested in a few hundred dollars of off-road lights anyway. Just flip that Accessory switch and light up the night!

I personally love the auto high beam feature. And you know what, you can over-ride it if you don't like when it changes, just do the exact same thing you would if the feature wasn't there and flip the lever to turn your brights on...

I live in one of the most deer infested areas of the country in SE Kansas, bright lights aren't gonna help you below 30 mph anymore than dims. In fact, dims may be better because more of the light is pointing down at the road which should keep you focused closer and anyone who has hit a deer knows, they come in from the side fast and the ditch is really where you should be scanning, not 1/4 mile down the road. During the rut, if I'm on the road and I don't see any other cars, I'll flip my ditch lights on. Ya, it's illegal, but I'm sure if any county cop saw me doing it they'd fully understand and prob just give me a warning...

Also, brights and off-roading, ya, 99.8% of the time I offroad at night I use my dims. I WANT to see what's directly in front of me. Also, if you're not off-roading in a group at night, you probably shouldn't be off-roading at night...
I don't like the auto high beam feature, BUT you're absolutely right - it's better to be focused close if you're worried about deer. They're going to come out of the ditch right in front of you, it's very unlikely they'll just be standing in the road 1/4 mile away.

The farmer around me refuses to let anyone hunt his roughly 200 acres that I have to drive through to get out of the area. There's also a county drain I have to drive along. So I have woods or a cornfield on one side of me, a massive ditch and another cornfield on the other side of me, and I leave for work at 6am. It's a 30 mph drive for the first mile or so of my drive, specifically because I know how many deer are in the area. I intend to get some ditch lights for the Bronco and my truck at some point, because it would help a LOT.

I don't mind the Auto High beams except for one glaring fault as far as I'm concerned. Where I live the law states that high beams must be dimmed 150 Metres (roughly 500ft) for an approaching vehicle and 60 Metres (200 ft) when following another vehicle. The AHB's dim way too early. Does anyone know if you can adjust the dimming distance in Forscan?

Thanks. I find the High beams dim probably more than 1000ft on approaching vehicles. I feel they should dim when the oncomer is a lot closer but I guess I'll just have to keep doing it the old fashioned way!!!

Well, remember that they have to program features like that based on a pretty comprehensive review of ALL places that vehicle could end up being sold...they don't really build them specific to a certain state/province. Which means another province or part of a province for you Canadians likely has their 'Must be dimmed' distance further than yours...OR Ford engineers just wanted to be sure they were in compliance with those kinds of laws and set the distance further than it needed to be to ensure compliance.

My dad taught me to dim them at about a quarter mile, fwiw.

Don't like the auto high beams in the bronco. The autos in my subaru outback are awesome.

This is my first vehicle with AHB and I have no complaints.

I did have to manually flash someone this morning that didn’t dip their high beams; they likely were running in manual and not auto.

I am surprised people think the Auto High Beam sucks. I first experienced it on a family member's vehicle in a more rural area and was stunned by how well it worked. It would turn on automatically when needed and turn off when a car was close enough that it would bother them. Then turn on again immediately after the car passed. My experience with AHB in my Bronco (first vehicle I've owned that has it) has been just as great. It's not likely to turn on in city areas with street lights, but I think that is probably a situation where judicious manual control is warranted. So, while it may be conservative turning on high beams, it's never blasted another driver.

Some good fog lamps will fix the problem, they remain on unless auto high beam kicks on. Much better than the factory headlights anyway.

I’m a big fan of AHB. It’s just something I don’t want to have to think about. I never had an issue with street lights or signs in my 2021. I need more road time in the 2025 - but, the fade on/off feature makes AHB that much better. Not entirely sure when that detail was introduced. Some are claiming as early as 2022. While others with MY22 are saying they don’t. Perhaps Job 4 only and standard in 2023?

I also live on windy dark roads. Aftermarket fogs and/or ditch lights are imperative.

Wait, people actually use Fords god awful auto high beams?

The calibration is so fucking bad it's not even funny. They turn off for street lamps and reflective signs only to then blind the fuck out of random oncoming cars and turn on and off every 7 seconds when there's someone in front of you.

Just turn them the fuck off. Flicking the high beam switch with your own hand is the easiest thing you'll ever do.
My AHB works perfectly in the Bronco as it did in my 2020 Ranger. Perhaps there is some other issue. Is your Bronco lifted, sensor not aligned properly, windshield tinted etc that may be causing your issues ?

Not entirely sure when that detail was introduced. Some are claiming as early as 2022. While others with MY22 are saying they don’t.
I didn’t realize some ‘22sq don’t have the fade up/down feature. Mine is a late build (a Halloween baby), so your thought may be true.
