I am looking at purchasing the RTR wheels and 285/70/17 tires when my OBX is delivered. Yours appear to have very little to no poke, but when I look around it seems like there will be ~1.5". Yours looks great! What am I missing?
They are +30 offset. Stock is what +55?

1 inch = 25.4mm

But the wheel is 1.5" wider, and the tire is 30mm wider. Right? It should be ~1.5". Yours looks perfect though.

Looking good 2 door! I'm liking this subtle color. Blends well with the MIC top.

Upgraded the corner and pod speakers to Alpine S2-S40.

Then put in a PRV AUDIO 4 Inch Midrange Speaker 4MR60-4 in the center dash.

install is super easy.

Replaced the "B&O" speakers with Alpine S2-S40s. The center dash speaker was replaced with a PRV Audio 4" midrange speaker.

Huge difference in sound quality and clarity, especially at higher volumes.

The accessory ready rail is a bit of a pita. The screws are T20. I read on this forum they are T27...

The B&O speakers are just standard cheap AF paper off-the-shelf Ford speakers.

This is a super easy DIY and only took an hour or two. and a few hundred bucks.

Polyfilled the factory subwoofer. Immediate improvement.

I'm a home audiophile, not a car audiophile, but this combined with my speaker upgrades is good enough for me.

yeah I did just my B&O speakers. All five 4” ones. Immediate improvement, not to expensive, and good enough for me.

So I took of the roof rack and did some before and after fuel economy testing.

Needless to say, the rack is not going back on.

I lost up to 8 mpg with the factory rails and the Yakima platform. At the minimum I lose 3+ mpg on the highway with the factory roof rack (No Yakima platform) versus without, probably more like 5 mpg. Absolutely shocking. The rack really kills the aerodynamics of the Bronco.

I did the test, because I recently did a 2 hour highway drive with the full rack + Yakima installed and was very annoyed at my poor mpg. So I took off the Yakima platform and repeated the drive, then took off the rails too. Yup. Major difference. The route, speed, traffic, conditions, acceleration, etc was all very similar since I spent most of the time in the express/ HOV lane on cruise control.

With the rack I was getting 17-18 mpg highway.

Without the rack I get 21-25 mpg highway. Speed playing a major factor without a rack. I can get 26 mpg but that is at around 65 mph, slower than I drive. I am normally at 75 mph up to 80. Speed limit is 80. :)
Damn. My 2.7 BD the best I can get is like 22mpg. I can get whole tanks of 21-22 though.

I just put the full rack and Yakima platform back on since it is spring time now.

I'll report back MPG findings.

I have been going back and forth, back and forth about a roof top tent.

I hit 5k on the odometer.

Amsoil for everything.

Changed engine oil and filter. The 4k mile old Pennzoil Platinum looked black as under the bed. Shockingly dark. I thought about grabbing an oil sample but didn't.

Changed front differential fluid. Looked fine. I do not have 4A, so haven't used the front differential a ton.

Changed transfer case fluid. Also looked pretty good.

Rear differential fluid was nasty and full chunks of what appeared to be threadlocker.

I highly, highly recommend changing the rear differential fluid very early for the first interval.

Then did a rotation. Thank God the Bronco has a TPMS sensor in the spare. My Ranger does not.

Removed the seats. Removed seat latches from seats, plugged back in connectors and tucked them away.

Used CAD, aka cardboard aided design, to mock up a template. For now I am thinking of just doing a piece for the front, keeping the factory cargo floor portion.

I bought a Gazelle T3X via Amazon Prime for now. I will test it out and if I hate it return it.

Another thought was going big with a Springbar canvas tent.
