  1. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Yeah, most people could care less about privacy and for those who consider privacy, most see it as too much of an effort or not working well. It depends what your goals are. Social media kills you and I don't use it (except for one fake/anonymous Twitter/X account to check things out - never...
  2. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Banking is a tough one. All your local police or the FBI need to see your bank records (or medical records) is their own admistrative subpoena that they sign - no judge required. Idiotic 3rd Party Doctrine. And, no doubt banks are selling your banking info to data brokers to sell to advertisers...
  3. Cloth Heated Seats - What Years and Models?

Yeah, I sort of started this. To each their own. No biggie on preference. To me it is a heat/cold v. cleaning aspect as to cloth or MGV. Do you want to be able to quickly wipe down the seats or have to use a vacuum cleaner or stain remover? Do you want seats that are not real hot or cold when...
  4. Cloth Heated Seats - What Years and Models?

Not to hijack the thread (OK, I am), but I have never been a fan of cloth seats in that they are harder to clean and you can't slide into them as easily. MGV, a soapy water spray bottle and microfiber towel. Cloth, some sort of vacuum cleaner. While there is a difference, I don't find MGV to be...
  5. Oil Change Experience

Well, I gotta pay for my oil changes. Bought my 10k miles used Bronc from a dealer chain owned by Penske Motorsports. As long as they change my oil each year with Penzoil, I get a 15 year 300K mile engine warranty. No worries about a blown transmission for life of vehicle
  6. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Done! Now I was not using a flashlight, but I figured it out. The clip/wiring you take off the TCU is not squeeze on the wide sides up and down. Use a small screwdriver on the side of the clip facing towards the glove box area. Depress the middle prong with a small screwdriver and it pops out.
  7. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Wow. That is easy. I assumed it would be hard to get to. Thank you! EDIT: Here is a YouTube on how to open up the glove box. You can see the TCU on the right, and change your cabin air filter if need be
  8. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Sounds like the way to go. Appreciate it. Do you have some general directions for forum members to disconnect the TCU to make is easier for them?
  9. What exactly is in "Sasquatch Package" ?

Good looking Bronc! Lift, 35" double Goodyear OEM tires. Some nice side rail step-ups that looks like they cover the ugly pinch welds. Not a big fan of the wheels, but that is personal taste and if you like them looking great for you so far. First exterior upgrade I would think of is replacing...
  10. Grilles, Grilles, Grilles - BRONCO, FORD, or other?

One thing I have noticed. On an Oxford White Bronco, the white lettering on the grille looks dull compared to the paint job. Won't notice this on other Broncos, but for some reason this bothers me on Oxford White,
  11. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

I'm already well known to my town council and school board for calling them out on insane taxes, cooking the books where I have proven so, etc. I really make them look bad in public meetings. Would not surprise me if they have had the local police try and look into me for dirt. How do the police...
  12. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Haha. There are apps that scan for air tags. Nothing in my home is connected to the internet. Dumb TVs. The worst is your phone. While you need a Pixel, this will give you phone privacy from data brokers/Google-Android (can't unlock bootloader on Apple phones to do this). I have three Pixels...
  13. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Appreciate it. Already mentioned I was going to try cutting the metal barb on three prong fuse 19/20 on the 20 side and see what happens. Also mentioned you know if it works as Ford connectivity on the infotainment will just show a constant connecting circle with no connection happening. Will...
  14. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

GPS is passive in that you can't track someone by GPS via the satellite. You need that person transmitting their GPS location - either by car modem or cell phone. As I posted, I have taken care of my cell phone for all this data brokering/selling of personal info. I'm trying to figure an easy...
  15. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Appreciate it. One way or another I will figure this out as I like a challenge,
  16. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

Sounds great! Can you delete the needs service light via the dash controls or infotainment? I'll look into that. I was also thinking of pulling the three prong fuse and cutting the one metal barb that goes to fuse 20 (having a spare on hand if problems) to see if that would do the trick. You...
  17. Pulling Telematics Modem Fuse 20 under dash

So I have already turned off communication with Ford in the Sync 4 infotainment settings (not looking to make this political or conspiratorial - just technical). Still there is a SIM card and modem buried behind the infotainment screen that could still be sharing my private driving data with...
  18. Why this guy bought a Rubicon over a Bronco

That great to hear! Have a '22 non-SAS BD I got for $39k, a big time saving over a Rubi.
  19. Why this guy bought a Rubicon over a Bronco

He was looking at a base SAS three years ago. His point is the Rubi is only a few thousand more. than a BB SAS today. I get it, prices are up everywhere. It is Ford dumping the base (IMO due to low profit margin) that has really priced up the low end Bronco.
  20. Why this guy bought a Rubicon over a Bronco

No doubt cars are up across the board with inflation and supply issues. Jeep has gone up too. My earlier point was I think Ford made the wrong decision by dumping the base and I see it as a straight profit move and it unfortunately prices out people who otherwise would have bought a Bronco. Now...
