22,000 miles on my 22 Outerbanks and first time with this issue.
Outside Temp reading is very erratic. 64 when it is 91 outside, 63 when it is 70 outside. After driving it sometimes returns to normal.
The sensor is about 5 bucks and easy to replace.
But according to the Service Manual, after replacement of sensor, "Using the diagnostic FDRS scan tool, follow the on screen prompts to run and reset the outside air temperature sensor learned values."
I don't have the FDRS.
I have read in a F150 forum to do the following;
On the HVAC panel controls, press the A/C and Recirc buttons simultaneously, then, release both.
Within 2 seconds press the A/C button again.
Does anyone know what steps the FDRS would tell me to take?

I replaced it myself about a year ago. It's easy to do. Just make sure you have a pcik or something to help get the wiring off.
It's a 5 minute job at best.
I don't know about resetting it. Could always try pulling the battery for 15 minutes.

Alright, I have ordered one. 10 bucks, includes shipping to my home. A lot cheaper then driving to the dealer and sitting around waiting:) Thanks

I do not disagree with your course here - it’s exactly what I would do as my dealer service is … lackluster.

Just pointing out that in your case, it would likely be covered under warranty.

But if your dealer is like mine, it would be 6-8 weeks before they could fit you in and they’d likely want your Bronco at the garage for a week.

Yes, I have a warranty but the dealer is 3 gallons of california gas round trip. My dealer has been pretty good at getting me in and out.:)

I'm 45K+ on my 2021 Badlands Sasquatch and my dash temp reading has just started to be high by about 15F for the past several weeks when it used to be perfectly accurate. Is this something people are just starting to see happen? From a software update maybe?

My temp was reading low. And would stick around 63 or 64 and start working again after driving around. Replaced sensor yesterday morning and it appears to be working like new again. Most people with issues are saying that their temps are showing higher, only saw a few people saying their temps were showing lower like mine. My latest software update was a month ago.

From me previous post, 2 weeks ago, I had removed mine and cleaned it off and it started working ok... Then a few days ago, it started going screwy again. Yesterday, my engine light came on and my App got a message that the Ambient Air Sensor is having an electrical issue. I'm now going to order a new one.

It was about 26F when I took this picture:

Mine has always been 5-8 degrees low, dealer didn't know what to do about it. I've been living with it, but maybe I will end up replacing it.

ODD how many of us are seeing these same issues and sensors "go bad".
I have one on order.

Update:
I installed the new part and the temperature readings were immediately accurate - but the engine light remained on. I drove for about 300 miles before the engine light went off.

The sensor is on the bottom of the drivers side rearview mirror assembly.

My sensor just went bad showing 140 outside temp. Unfortunately this must be common as now they are out of stock back ordered from Ford. Anybody got a source that has in stock?
