Update: I installed the new part and the temperature readings were immediately accurate - but the engine light remained on. I drove for about 300 miles before the engine light went off.

Just got the call from Ford Service. Apparently, the fix is to replace the entire window. They say this is the first Bronco they had to do this fix for.
