I was looking to buy the Bronco 2021-2026 Aeroskin® Hood Protector by Husky Liners® - Smoke from Ford but I'm unsure about the color. I have a Black OBX and I wanted it match the grey textured plastic that I have for the fender flares. Should I get the "Smoke" colored one in the link above or the black one? I can't seem to find pictures anywhere online of he smoke vs the black for this hood deflector.

The SKU for the smoke is: VM2DZ16C900AB

Any help would be appreciated

As “23OBX2.7” stated, the smoked is smooth finish, and over time it will show rock dings, scratches etc….. I think the black textured looks better, and it will most closely match your textured flares. Many members here on the forum have the black textured Aeroskin II which has the hump on rear edge. I had one on my ‘21 but took it off because it made some wind noise at freeway speeds that I just couldn’t get over.

I had one on my 2023 Oxford White Bronco. Protected the leading edge of the hood like it was supposed to do. Not sure how many stones it actually stopped from hitting the windshield. What I DIDN'T like was the way dirt collected underneath. Water naturally rolls off the hood and eventually gets "behind" the Aeroskin and brings debris with it. Then, when I removed it, there was noticeable paint discoloration. A LOT of elbow grease and cleaner wax and I got it back to where you couldn't see it anymore. I won't put another one on. Maybe protective film instead.

I bought a used 2023 Big Bend that has the front, as well as the front and rear corners. Luckily the previous owner put PFF down on all those areas before he applied the armor. FWIW, the factory look and full protection is a nice detail for me as most miles will be on highway.

IMO the commercial thickckness PPF is the way to co because standard PPF will get shredded quickly / 3 yeears on hoof and fender leading edges as it did on my Mustang with limited high density highway use anytime.

Not sure why this item isn't standard package equipment. It does make a HUGE difference on bug soup on the windshield. Only the largest rocks and insects seem to get through.

My only bitch on the black is color fade. Otherwise, it works great for me.
