I guess the only body kit makers that haven't gotten caught up in this is Fiberwerx. But their front fenders don't have liners I believe. I wonder if this takes down both ADV and APG who will step up to take their place making body panels...

They'll combine and reorganize under a new corporate name - APOS.

You mean the guy who said he smelled BS and then proceeded to order one? šŸ˜†šŸ˜†
You were listening? I was too distracted by dude’s titties to really pay attention. He was in such a hurry to get the video out he forgot to put a bra on. Thought it was a litebright video for a minute there.

The current word companies use is Crowdfunding, where customers pay for all the product before it's made. In the past, that was called a Ponzi Scheme.

Thing about it is... it will all come out in court. From reading through the Court Filing of the Law Suit, ADV filed against APG ADV Paid APG A LOT of Money. ADV will have to prove this through money transfers and bank records, this is the crux of the case.

Its why they, ADV, seemingly has no money to refund. That Amount of money for pre production problems is a Joke. If its taken that much money and they are still having problems... their top would never be road worthy.

Other companies have them on the market and on trucks as we speak. Its not rocket science, its fiberglass and plastic. Its never going to fit like a hatch cover on a Ferrari.

APG's response brings up a few questions.

1. So APG had no idea how many orders ADV accepted but they saw that ADV was able to pay those invoices sent by APG totaling 4.4M?

2. If APG is aware ADV collected 8.6M, they should also be aware they collected 4.4M for hardtop development. Where are those funds APG received?

3. How did APG always intend to sell directly to its customer if ADV was granted distributorship rights to the product?

In every story there is a a varying degree of truth,
1) adv paid apg 4.4 million
2) apg says adv took in 8..5

what in the F did adv do with 4.1 million? I have to assume they paid taxes? Just like i ’assume’ all the deposit companies do???

ADV was required by the terms of the contract to provide monthly sales reports to APG. So either ADV didn't actually provide those monthly sales reports or APG didn't bother looking at those reports.

Granted I am not a lawyer, so it is possible that a "pre-order" doesn't actually count as a "sale". But they've had the agreement for over two years and APG obviously knew ADV was taking pre-orders. So you'd think at some point pre-order numbers would have been discussed. And if APG knew they were having issues with manufacturing you would think they would say "yeah... maybe we need to close pre-orders until we figure this out".

More likely than not, this entire thing just snowballed out of control and became FAR more expensive than either party expected. But once you are so far in you really have no choice but to continue to shovel money into the furnace and hope something pops out the other side.

He had no choice but to continue taking orders to be able to refund older orders that were being cancelled. Take from Peter to pay Paul. He basically did to his customers what APG did to ADV.
Indeed its starting to look a lot like a pyramid scheme.

Wow this thread has gotten out of hand haha o_O I was going to avoid commenting to stay out of the drama, but I feel like it's time for a little positivity. A lot of these guys are talking like ADV is some fly by night shady operation... let's not forget that they have been around for a lot longer than the 6G Bronco has existed, and they have supported the off-road community with awesome products and services along the way. Talk to anyone outside of this bubble and they'll tell you. Yeah it sucks that it's taking forever, and I'm tired of waiting too (Batch 2 order holder, very excited). But ADV is doing something they've never done before, and at a level of quality that nobody else will be able to match. Speaking from direct experience.

I convinced ADV to let me be a beta tester last year, and we've now had one of their original prototype tops on our Bronco for just over 4 months. We have absolutely beat on our Bronco with this top on it. We live in Joshua Tree and are out wheeling on a weekly basis. My wife competed in the Rebelle Rally (1000+ miles off-road, 15-115 degree temps, all different kinds of terrain), and the top didn't skip a beat. I work in the off-road industry, and am very picky with what I put on my builds. ADV is definitely no exception to that. The level of quality on this top is better than I expected, and they tell me this version can't even touch what the production tops will be like. Aside from the crazy timeline, I now know that I will be 100% happy with my top when I get it. Yes I paid full price, no I am not sponsored nor was I asked to write what I am writing. Just sharing my experience with John and his product thus far.

If you don't want to wait for your ADV top, then don't wait. But don't come on to a forum slandering them while they are undoubtedly losing sleep over this project as it is. They're working their asses off, they aren't scamming anyone. They're just a handful of dudes trying to bring the absolute best Bronco top to the market, all while keeping up on the rest of production at their shop. And it's proving to be a MUCH bigger job than they thought. That's it.

I've attached some photos that were taken during the Rebelle Rally. Whether you're a fellow order holder awaiting your top, or just another troll / competition hype, I hope you enjoy them either way :)

I'll just leave this testimony by ADV's white knight here. 🤔

Here’s what happened. Two small companies that don’t make anything outside of fiberglass fenders, created a hardtop rendering and got 1k+ people to shell out 7k each. They collected millions and spent it.

It’s literally a scene out of Dumb & Dumber.

They may have paid taxes on other sales (fenders/hoods), but these pre-sale deposits are not earnings.

This should eerily familiar. Think about it for a minute.

Fords debacle with a MIC top???????

I don't think I need to remind you all that transpired with that whole process. It is now 4 years later and I have not seen much improvement. Keep shoveling. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
