Yeah. I'm reading through the lawsuit and this is a great business case for a business school class on how NOT to enter into a business agreement. So many bad moves, makes my stomach turn just reading this.

I completely understand your valid concern, as its one that we share as well. ADV Fiberglass was, unfortunately, a victim of a business manufacturing and production operation led by APG, Automotive Performance Group, in Garden Grove, CA the partner company taking control of the manufacturing of the hardtops in this project. Unfortunately, we trusted the wrong person/company to partner up with and there are no words for how sorry we are for this mistake. At ADV, we never take your business for granted and it’s devastating that ADV has fallen victim to an operation of this size, that affects our valued customers. We have also exhausted every possible option to try and manufacture in-house and deliver this product to you without APG’s (Automotive Performance Group in Garden Grove, CA) involvement. However, right now, there is no avenue for us to take to fulfill these orders due to the patent that APG filed behind our back, without our business name included, that covered the bolt-together, slant back design. The patent, unfortunately, prohibits us from manufacturing the design we developed at our ADV facilities. We are so sorry that this has happened and are extremely disappointed that we were not able to deliver on this for you. Please know our customers are like family to us – YOU are important to us. This is not something we are taking lightly, and we wish the circumstances were different. Whatever happened to “tops are being loaded onto cargo ships this week”? Proof this whole deal was bullcrap from the first post asking for 100% up front. 100% for a CAD drawing and a promise of a product. It stunk from second one which is why I passed.

That's right! Someone just posted earlier that they were told containers are currently being loaded.

So what I heard was " We trusted the wrong person" and you trusted the wrong company. "Please know that each & every one of you are familly to us" And no one can & will screw you over like a close family member. "Unfortunately ADV is unable" & un willing "to offer refunds at this time. You may want to contact your credit card company directly." I am sure that many of the credit card companies out there will do as we have done and tell you to pound sand as a lot of you have been waiting 2 years for this vaporware. As you should have known like we did when we required that 100% deposit that they will only refund on average < 180 from time of purchase. So BOHICA !!!

I got got. I’ve paid for products that were “in production” before and it worked out. I also don’t use credit cards and pay things upfront. I’m new to buying car accessories so this was a bad experience.

So when ADV who is labeled “The Distributer“ is mad that they were not on the patent… did they not read what was in the agreement they signed which is attached to their lawsuit? This reads to me that ADV wanted to be the sole distributor for APGs product. I am curious to see how this all plays out.

If it’s in front of the courts, likely the best thing they can do is say nothing right now.
