He asked after I paid if I wanted it anodized black. I think the first batch was done this way. I’m happy how it turned out and feel fortunate I got the knob from AR before they shut down.

I can't wait for mine to arrive. Looks like it might be stalled out in UPS' shipping network unfortunately :( hopefully they find it soon

Beautiful piece. Machining is top notch. Very well done. Packaging was perfect, could have shipped an egg in that box. These guys are not messing around.

I would skip the anodizing though...almost looks like someone hit it with a Sharpie after the fact.

Anything to get rid of that seam on the plastic bit though. If you have a manual, you are here and know what I'm talking about.

Edit for pictures and compliments to the mfg.

The next batch will be better for the anodizing.

Machining is exquisite, great job.

I thought it was going to be raw aluminum when I purchased, I like the contrast of the original just hate the plastic.

Since the anodizing is a bit fubar'd and I was looking for the contrast anyways, what do you think about taking some oven cleaner to it?

I accept all responsibility.

Also, to anyone that is thinking about purchasing, I have no issues with the piece itself and would purchase it again from these guys.

Edit.

Anodizing on mine looks good, it would look great with a wooden shift knob, if somebody would make those.

Just finished the install. It's hard to explain how it feels instead of the plastic one. Kind of like a metal knob on a high end stereo compared to a plastic one on an Amazon no-name.

I hate to admit it, but I fidget with the lockout a bit while driving/sitting in traffic. Not enought to choose R or C, but just enought to shorten the life of the spring by about half. It's the small details that change everything and this is a nice piece.

Switched back to the OEM plastic while I decide what to do about the anodizing. Now that I know what it could be, it's a sad switch back.

I just recieved mine. The machining looks fine but the anodizing……not so much. I’m not sure what happened. I can see where it was racked at the anodizing house on the small lower ID so it is not a racking mark. It can be made less noticeable with a good permanent marker, but that isn’t a great long term solution. I did verify it fits well in the OEM shift knob.
