Getting ready to put 37 inch KO2’s on my 2023 Wildtrack bronco.
Curious, if anybody has any regrets doing this?
I have the zone adventure 2.25 lift with the JKS Max tire kit installed.
Seems like the only negative I hear is the speedometer, how many people actually try to recalibrate this as opposed to just living with it being a few miles per hour off?
Thanks!

Mod lifestyle FTW!!!

But yeah, you can update the speedo setting with the FP tuner (maybe ForScan??). There are definitely people who don't care and live with it.

I want to say you'll need to go at least +18/12 or 0 offset rims, so they don't rub at full turn on the LCA/UCA? A lot of people just get the hub spacers, like a 1.25" or whatnot. This leads to increased scrub radius (see wear below).

There's also the added wear from the heavier tires; the Sas axles were engineered with 35's in mind, plus steering component wear and breakage with the heavier tires. If you rock krawl, bouncing or max drooping heavier tires can lead to tie rod and CV problems (on road, probably not a big issue if you're not a kerb assassin). You'll also notice with heavier tires, harder to move (2.7 I assume is less noticeable than the 2.3).

It's also possible once you get them on, you might need to trim/remove some fender or pinch weld. Not as likely as with 38-40's. but you'll want to do a full stuff/turn test to see if/where it rubs on the well and fender.

Try to limit the weight if you can. These were really engineered with a lightweight not-quite-35" tire in mind. I personally wish someone made a pizza cutter in a true 37 (like the Kenda Klever), but I don't think they exist (correct me if I'm wrong).

The main thing that would worry me about heavier tires / wheels (which I want to do as well) is the stress on the non-heavy duty steering rack / tirerods / UCAs...

If weight is the biggest issue, you can buy lighter wheels. Just sayin'...that's my plan if I do the Zone lift on my WT w Fox.

So here are the tires I've been researching - probably not buying for another season, but just for comparison. All in 37x12.5R17 unless otherwise stated

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT (LRD) - 80 lbs
Falken Wildpeak AT4S (LRE)- 78 lbs
Cooper Discoverer STT (LRD) - 77 lbs
Sailun Terramax R/T (LRE) - 75 lbs
Nitto Recon Grappler AT (37x11.5) (LRD) - 71 lbs
Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT (LRD) - 69 lbs
Delium Terra Raider KU-257 (LRE) - 66 lbs
BFG TA KO2 (LRD) - 70 lbs
BFG TA KO2 (LRC) - 65 lbs

For comparison - stock SAS GY Territory: 52 lbs

So no matter what tire you really step up to, there's going to be a weight impact.

I wouldn’t call them regrets, but it took so much more effort than I anticipated. I started with new wheels (0 offset), and Stage 6 ICON suspension. Thought I would be okay. But I was rubbing pretty hard. So I had to (in order):

The first three were before leaving the shop that installed suspension/wheels:
- Modify the OEM running boards, cutting back about 2” on the front, then a lot more finagling to get the cap back on
- Cut off the crash bar behind the front tires
- Remove mudflaps

Then it was still rubbing in many on-road scenarios that lead to:
- JKS Max Tire Clearance kit was the big unexpected one
- 1” Body lift to prevent stuffing the front tires

Soon enough I removed the OEM steps and replaced with IAG rock rails…and even those rubbed, so back to the grinder to trim those back.

After all that, it still rubs a bit in the back at full articulation on the trails. That one I can live with for now.

On top of that, my gas mileage went from about 15.5 to 13.5. I haven’t recalibrated the speedo so maybe that would increase slightly but wouldn’t top 14.

Sure looks good and works great on the trails.

Nope I love mine. Added a Pulsar XT piggyback tune for more power to turn heavy tires and also correct the speedometer. I lost about 1-1.5 mpg with 37s, but I can live with that.

I knew what I was in for so no regrets but be aware gas mileage, handling and power will suffer plus rubbing will be a issue (depends on how much you can put up with) so more mods may/will be issue. Then of course there is the steering rack issue. For me Sasquatch coilovers with 3” zone lift became “overwhelmed” so I went with 4wp/procomp coilovers. Rubbing lead to JKS kit, and future 3/4” body lift. Hoss 3 steering rack was a no brainer…good luck
