Ride Shocks - a long-term review. (video linked at end)

Anyone have any more feedback on these shocks? One thing I’m curious about is the tune. They come set wide open on the adjustments from accutune. Is wide open super plush or have people found they want the shocks even softer but ran out of adjustments? I would be a little worried if I get the shocks and find out I want to make them softer but ran out of adjustments and have to send back for another revalve.

This is the huge risk. Pretty much need to define your use case and scaled vehicle weight with a tuner and get them to valve and presdjust, hoping they have a goilover dyno.

This is wht we do with dirt bikes but its also a lot easier to access and swap susp also but still do it.

Go soft if you like SAS like ride or hard if you want to blast the desert. The adjustment is for fine tuning. For an everyday driver don't buy into the max performance tune. Popo rig is well setup but a lot of people would want something softer including myself.

This is 110% on point. You may have seen our original release thread where our initial V1 tuning was a bit stiffer than some wanted. Unlike other shock companies, we took user-feedback and made immediate changes to the valving to get the Fully Open Adjuster Settings to be as close to Stock SAS as possible.

Any softer on our standard Adventure Tune, and you would be softer than SAS, which would make for a very boaty, brake diving, and unsafe ride quality.

Customers like Popo want to use the vehicle harder, and use a lot more throttle input during on/off road driving, where the Dual Sport unlocks the Broncos potential at the expense of some road feel.

You mentioned that you had been in a Bronco that had the Adventure Tune and it was very smooth over cobblestone roads. Curious how you would compare the feel of that tune to the Hoss 2.0 Bilsteins. I’m trying to square your statement with the comment from the Ride team that the Adventure tune at its softest setting should be no softer than the Sasquatch (assuming they were comparing to the 2.0 Bilsteins).

Maybe most people think that the Bilsteins are pretty compliant, but I’ve found them pretty harsh with small onroad imperfections or washboards/small rocks off-road (generally traveling at lower speed). Hoping the Adventure tune would offer some relief while still maintaining an overall sporty character.

So the feel on suspension is always very subjective however in my personal opinion. The ride of the adventure tune Ride’s was more comfortable than the 2.0 yellow SAS shocks. It quieted the road imperfections more so then the stock shocks. For a daily/adventure vehicle, I’d love that honestly if I got a second bronco and wasn’t concerned about ultimate go fast performance

I wish the rides would have worked out for me and my stock Sas wheels. If they made resi brackets similar to ADS and longer hoses, I bet their ride resi would worked with the stock badlands Sas wheels. This would keep the costs down for running their shocks.

I hate that I'm suggesting it but you could do a 1" spacer.

I cant speak to the exact tune or the SAS 2.0. I had the 3.0, then kings, and then a extreme Ride setup. That being said I dont think the 2.0 is anywhere near the class of a Ride or King at any level.

I do think too many people hope for out of the box perfection without doing more homework. By that I mean go to a truck scale and get the exact front and rear weight of your Bronco. Then talk to Ride directly. Its easy to use to stiff or too hard of a spring. If you work closely them or even a local shock tuner you'll get the perfect ride for what you want.

^This^, or accept the limitations of the one-size-fits-all aftermarket - one that rarely discloses actual spring rates (though some sell regular and "heavy duty" options, sometimes recommending an over/under weight.).

For all the talk about shocks, springs are what gives your subjective "ride" it's fundamental characteristics...I guess they are "boring" compared to brightly painted shocks with this or that technical doohicky that manufactures like to splash in their marketing
