Waiting patiently for one person to agree with the OP that this is less work.🍿
This is like arguing over which color is better, which oil to use, or what tire pressure to run. BUT one thing that we all KNOW FOR SURE is that 2-doors are way cooler than MoreDoors, hahaha.

OP’s method:
  • Move Bronco to level surface, so it’s somewhat stable when set on jack stands. In OP’s case it blocks the driveway and the side walk.
  • Remove spare.
  • Move jack to rear at the end of the drive way, lift rear, place on jack stands.
  • Lower, check stability, re-adjust jack stands if needed.
  • Move jack to front, lift front, place on jack stands.
  • Lower, check stability, re-adjust jack stands if needed.
  • Remove rear wheels/tires mark with chalk so you don’t forget which one goes where.
  • Remove front wheels/tires mark with chalk so you don’t forget which one goes where.
  • Install spare on right rear, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Install front right tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Install front left tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lift jack at front, remove jack stands, lower and torque front wheels.
  • Install rear left tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Move jack to rear of vehicle, lift and remove jack stands, lower and torque rear wheels.
  • Replace the spare and torque.
  • Re-torque all wheels.
  • Move the 4 jack stands back to storage
  • Move jack back to storage.
  • Move Bronco back into drive way.
  • Optional - Explain to neighborhood kids that a vehicle on jack stands is not stable and not to play around it.
  • Optional - explain to police, neighbors, etc. that you’ll only be blocking the side walk for a few more minutes and you’re sorry that Auntie Aolani has to take her walker to the other side of the street for her evening walk.
  • Optional – Explain to the wife that she can’t park in the driveway after work and she’ll need to park on the street with 9 bags of groceries. And, you’d help her carry them in but can’t leave the Bronco unattended while it’s on jack stands.
Optional method
  • Leave the Bronco where it is- since it will always have at least 3 wheels/tires in place.
  • Remove spare.
  • Move jack to right rear, lift right rear, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to right front, lift front, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to left rear, lift left rear, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to left front, lift front, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Replace the spare and torque.
  • Re-torque all wheels.
  • Move jack back to storage.
  • Optional – show one of your children, who is ready to get their license, how to change a tire.
  • Optional – Say Aloha to Auntie Aolani as she takes her evening walk.
  • Optional – stop what you’re doing at points 1 thru 13 and help the wife with the groceries.

From a Lean Manufacturing standpoint the OP's method involves more movement, risk, and effort.
I could have rotated my tires 3 times in the time it took me to read that. :teehee:

Isn't there a step to reassign the wheels to their new locations for the TPS? How do you all do that?

I think you're on to something there. I never considered how much more walking folks with moredoors have to do to rotate their tires. I'm surprised any of them do it themselves unless they're marathon runners.

For me, not hard at all. Just sit in comfy waiting room having snacks/coffee while watching TV until the Service Tech comes grab me when done. ;) :D
I was going to say, in the “work smarter” category, Discount Tire will rotate them free even if you didn’t buy the tires there. I usually read the Bronco forum on my phone instead of watch TV though. One important point…you DO need to tell them you want the five tires rotated.

A simple way to deal with heavy wheels. Jack your wheel so it is about an inch off the ground. Us a common shovel. Slide the shovel under the tire, push down on the handle, this works as a lever to lift the wheel, then just push it over the lugs and you are set.

You guys have fun playing with them wheels & tires (don’t get under there without stands)…This old guy just lets the dealer do it free with an oil change and whatever other service…wife is nice enough to pick me up and drop me off (may have to take her to breakfast/lunch)…win-win 😜
