Certainly not a new topic but new to me since I’m having fun with my new Bronco, driving the past few days with the doors and top off. I was careful to put the important stuff like my keys and wallet in zippered pockets. However, it didn’t take long before something fell out! Lost my left slip on shoe when I thought I’d be cool and rest my foot on the lower door hinge. Fortunately it dropped on a street that I could double back and get it without a huge risk.

Other than that, I about lost my hat when everything was seemingly happy to be where they were at and then a passing truck’s bow wave of air just blew in sideways and lifted my hat off my head! I noticed the front passenger floor mat was flopping around and if not for the single attach point, looked as if it would easily fly out.

So, what have you personally lost while driving with the top and/or doors off? Anyone lose anything important?

Mostly hair. Oh wait, that's my daughter's fault over the years - Never mind!

I've only lost little bits of paper, usually a receipt that I stuffed in the cup holder or cubby in front of it.

Speaking of hair, never, ever put a lab in the back of the bronco with the doors off and/or the top open - unless you want a layer of shag (yellow in my case) throughout the entire Bronco and on you!

Always put your hat on backwards. The rear floor mats would exit if they could, but it’s one piece all the way across. Rear cargo cover keeps things inside that area.
We’ve always had boats, so there’s a few pair of sun glasses in the bottom of the lake.

A rear floor mat (even though I've added adhesive velcro strips to them). So now I just pull them out.
First time I drove with the doors off I lost a bag of dog food from the front passenger footwell. Also a mochi donut that went onto the street and under my rear tire, resulting in a 3-foot wide donut on the pavement <g>.

I don’t know how many times I’ve had hats blown off on boats but I’ve only actually lost one. Usually we can get back in time to scoop it up with a fish net.

I lost feeling in my body for like an hour once. Had the doors off for a few hot days and it took a super cool dip one night. I drove to work in khakis and a polo shirt and froze my ass off. I was pale white and shivering hard by the time I got to my office. I learned to keep a thick hoodie and a knit hat in the Bronco at all times.

I guess I could say I "lost" my wife.
She refuses to get in the Bronco when I take the doors off.

Otherwise, I keep my left foot inside the Bronco to shift gears and my hat has a strap.
So I haven't really lost anything. ...yet.

She sounds great. Lol
Sounds like you're better off leaving her at home anyway.

I usually lose some random plastic bags. But they swirl around making me think I actually have a chance to grab it at 50 mph.

I’m gonna annoy some fellow moardoor owners here, but I have to admit the 2-doors look better than ours with the doors off. Looks more natural.

Curious to see how a 4-door looks with just the front doors off and no top. Anyone?

If and when I put my doors and top back on, and if I remember, I'll put the 2 rear doors on first and snap a pic.

Only thing I ever lost without doors was money when the republik of PA fined me!

* I actually was never fined, and they changed the law a year or 2 back to allow doors off, but still annoys me ;)
