I completed mine in about 2.5 hours thanks to the advice above.

A few comments: have a small pick handy for pulling retaining clip loose in step 22. Then use needle nose pliers (as mentioned above). Also mentioned above, this clip isn't re-used.

For the white bearing cup removal (step 24), you want to push it inward so that it moves into an open area where it can expand. Then use a small drift to push the pin loose from the cap by pushing in the small hole in the bearing cap.

When re-installing the white bearing cap (step 36), you need to install the cap to the shaft before the shaft is all the way inserted (see picture). If you insert the shaft all the way and then try to install it, you'll never get it on (because there's not enough room for it to expand (ask me how I know).

Could someone measure the 3-4 throw me? Either -Same spot on the knob to same spot OR max up/down.

That is where I got mine from too, their price on May 10th was $369.95 when I ordered it - 10% Tax Return discount = $332.95 delivered.

Doug
Aw dang! Aug 2 and the price on the site is now $424.95…. ($403.71 after discount code) before taxes….

I wonder if any of these aftermarket companies realize how much business they lose because of their insistence on their branding being on everything?

Has anyone installed this keeping the shift knob but blacking out and/or filling in the white B$M on the sides? Just wondering though I realize reusing OEM or another aftermarket knob is easier

I thought about doing this as I like the feel of a ball-type knob, just have not gotten around to it yet.

When I bought MGW Shifters for my 2016 & 2021 Mustangs I ordered them with logo delete knobs. This is a company out of Georgia that makes everything in house, so they can offer options. B&M just had a gross of shifter sets made in China, so no options.

I found this thread because I was wondering if my 2025 manual had a "shift by wire" setup. There is so little feedback that I thought that moving the shifter was just completing an electrical circuit, which signaled an actuator to make the actual shift. I now know that it is a cable setup, which makes sense. Shifting feels "gated" and there is ZERO vibration in the stick regardless of the driving situation.

I had a 1999 F-150 with a big V6 and a 2003 Dakota V8, both with long shifters and a feel like I was holding the beating heart of the machine in my hand. Very satisfying. In the last 10 years, I drove a Subaru Crosstreck and a Bronco Sport, both auto. I bought the 2door base 7 speed hoping to get back to the tactile experience of really controlling a transmission.

This B&M shifter sounds like it could bring me the driving experience I was looking for.

The B&M isn't going to do anything but make it feel more gated, it is still cable driven.

Stick shift by wire. wow.

The ultimate oxymoron!

Technology is so easy and experience is so valued, I don't doubt it.

I think the B&M has more positive feel to it and I like the taller shifter.

If you install it, do yourself a favor and lubricate both of the shafts with oil or grease. My shifter got kind of tight a few months after the install and I sprayed some lube on it which resolved the issue.

I also replaced the knob with a knob from Twisted Shifterz. Because of the mounting adapter, it raises the knob another inch or so.

You would think with the longer lever it would get easier to shift, and I thought this was the case right after the install June last year.

However it seems to have stiffened up since the install. Thought it was just me, so I've been putting off yanking it back out to see if I could add lube to where ever I or B&M missed.

Thanks for posting ... thought maybe I was loosing my mind, arm strength, or both !!

If you want to try the easy method, just pull up the boot and spray some light lube on the parts you can see. I used T-9 because I had it around and it worked well. I am thinking of taking it back out and applying some thin grease directly on the contact surfaces someday.
