Have you seen the NEW heat extraction hood by @Turn Offroad đź‘€

This thing is a beast and it doesn’t just look good. It does what it’s intended to do! At a glance it changes the look of the Bronco in a pretty aggressive way, but the real purpose is functional. Under the hood of these trucks, especially once you start adding weight, tuning, or just dealing with Texas heat, temperatures can climb fast. This hood is designed to give that heat somewhere to go instead of letting it sit and soak everything around it.

What stands out is how it manages airflow. Instead of just being cosmetic vents, the extraction points are positioned to actually pull hot air up and out while you’re moving, helping reduce engine bay temps and potentially taking some stress off components that don’t love constant heat exposure. It’s one of those things you may not immediately “feel” like horsepower, but over time it plays into reliability and consistency, especially if you’re pushing the vehicle or sitting in traffic on a hot day.

There’s also something to be said about how it fits into the overall build of a Bronco. It doesn’t feel out of place or overly flashy. It leans into that rugged, purpose built style that makes sense for the platform. It looks like it belongs there, like something Ford could’ve offered from the factory if they went a little more aggressive with cooling and design.

Another thing that sets them apart is their price point! The Turn Offroad heat extraction hood comes in right around $1,199, which puts it in a really competitive spot compared to similar fiberglass heat extractor hoods that typically land closer to the $1,250 range and can climb well beyond that depending on finishes and options. When you start looking at the broader market, you’ll find cheaper options, but they often cut corners in fitment or design, and on the higher end you’re paying a premium that doesn’t always translate into noticeably better function. This one kind of sits in that middle ground where it feels accessible without feeling “cheap,” and that balance is what makes it stand out.

What are your thoughts?

I'd like to see someone make a vented hood that doesn't add a massive bump when there's literally no need for it. I know Turn actually wheels their rigs, so why add an obstacle you have to struggle to see over?

Love @Turn Offroad. While on Ambassadors - I don't love that they didn't consider me as an ambassador (butthurt :ROFLMAO:) even though I have nearly all of their components and praise them constantly, not because I have to, but because I literally have loyalty to the brand. I love it. Heck, they have some dude up in British Columbia as an ambassador that as far as I can tell doesn't have one single Turn component on his car - large social following, not authentic as far as the brand. I don't think they want representation in the Appalachians and mid-Atlantic. It's a big miss, in my opinion. Huge offroading culture here. Offroading is much bigger than just the West Coast...I digress...but I could go on!

I do love the company and their support is great - not good - it's great. They also seem like great humans with a great looking little family. They genuinely care about their products and they've been around the offroad game for a long time. I believe Cole's dad owned DV8 and Cole left that outfit and spun up Turn not long after his dad retired or sold the business or both. Anyway, they're not new to this and stand behind what they sell. They do care and that matters, folks.

That said, I'm not a fan of how large the bump is in the hood, maybe there's more functionality to it than I understand. Seems unnecessary.

I missed one key word being "just". Offroading is much bigger than JUST the west coast.

Got it, makes more sense that way :) BTW don't take the ambassador thing personally. Take it from me, these companies have tons of considerations to take into account when deciding who to send product to for evaluation and exposure, not all of which are apparent to outside observers.

Nah, I get it. I'm sure there are good reasons that aren't apparent to me. They are smart people, I know that. It's just that there are a lot of people who have a passion for offroading in this area, so population density and offroad access were clearly not a part of the decision equation.

How am I supposed to believe a map that mislabels the Gulf of America? 🤣

Map updated.
OK now I see it. Those mountains on the right side of the map means there are tons of BLM and USFS open areas with endless back-country trails and public OHV access. I need to get out that way and check out this off-roader's paradise!

Sorry brother, just breaking your balls in the spirit of April Fool's Day :)

Ha, all good! There are extensive trail systems in that area though. Hatfield-McCoy Trails, Ride Royal Blue, Ride the Wilds, Windrock Park, Brimstone Recreation Area, Coalmont, Uwharrie...so many more. It might look like a small area on the map, but that's a looooot of space. Also a lot of people, which means a lot of consumers for Turn products
