I have a 2022 Bronco Black diamond 2 door with the washout floors.

I recently saw that water was getting under my floor liner while removing my dashcam wiring. After removing part of the carpet without removing the seat I realized that the way the liner is designed, makes any water pooled on the floor mats work it's way under the liner.

This is a extremely poor design as here in the winter time it's hard not to get snow on your floor mats.

I also realized that paint is also peeling on the floor because of this, it's not the only place I have paint peeling either. My rocker panel has paint flaking and then at the corner of the rocker and door jamb I have paint peeling from mis aligned doors.

This is making me quite upset, I've had old trucks completely rot out because of the water getting the floor liner. This is not good at all.

Yep. The washout floor is a good idea with poor execution. People with it should make it a practice to pull the seats and inspect periodically.

At this point, clean, scuff, and paint is all you can do.

Such a shame to be painting the floor board on my 4 year old truck

I installed the Armorlite washout floor in my Wildtrac. It will not prevent water from going underneath and I suspect the factory washout flooring is no different. Under the seats at the vents is just a big hole. The sides and several other places will also allow water to get under.

I didn't want to comment on Armorlite as I had no experience with them. But any product that doesn't have elevated boots over the seat mounts and vents are just access points for the water/mud to seep below the floor and pan.

The OEM washout floor has tabs on the side where it fastens. Water/debris can easily seep past the sills.

I had the OEM washout floor on my Black Diamond and overall, I wasn't impressed. Too many openings in the floor for it to be effective. The drain channels sat lower than the drains. I've only seen a few people disassemble the interior to clean under the washout floor.

At this point, if I was to buy a used Bronco, I would steer away from the washout floor.

That sucks.
The floor must have been soaked for months if not longer for the paint to be coming off.
Looks like a good floor mat is in your future.

I've lightly rinsed mine but basically consider it easy to wipe flooring material, as opposed to something you can really flood. I'm curious how long it took to pull it all up in the photo above. seats are easy to remove. wondering about the flooring

It looks like the truck was fording muddy streams with the doors off. Where did it all come from? I don’t have wash out floors but am curious as to why all Broncos wouldn’t experience this. Ford has had problems with leaking windshields(F150) and recall on Bronco windshield for improper sealing. Both allow water intrusion.

After the seat removal, it is anchored along the side with tabs. It also fits under the console (but not completely. There is a "saddle strap" that keeps it from sliding. That strap is forward up by the accelerator. If you were to remove the flooring, then the console has to come out or you can just cut that "saddle strap".

It is not intended to be washed out like spraying the exterior. Very light rinse, low pressure and volume. I have it and wouldn’t do it. Maybe wash with a wash mitt and shop vac it out.
