Question for the OP, did your amp use line-level inputs or did you use a Line to low level converter?

I can't see how an amp could feedback through a line converter, but genuinely curious.
Used line-level inputs, not a converter.

This is why I'm wanting the VIN. If they opened a Hotline case or started warranty cancellation on a component it's one thing but I highly doubt they messed with it. My question to the OP is if they told him the specific thing that caused the failure. If he removes the amp and other add-on audio equip, pays for a new ACM/APIM and it doesn't fix the concern then who's on the hook? Was it misdiagnosed? Likely not but if they don't tell him what killed it, how can you be sure it's not going to happen again?

I'm a dealer and have seen the dealer hopping a bunch, rarely is there anything in OASIS because a diag claim was never run, dealer never went through with cancellation and Hotline notes don't show up unless you have a contact ID or dig through complete warranty history. Most of the time there are only scant tech notes to go off of. Hell, Ford has sent known owner caused problems to us to fix under warranty. Yea, not a fun conversation to have after "Ford" told them it was covered.

My point is getting the correct diag so the cause can be corrected before a new part is bolted on, programmed only to find out it still hummms.
How do you go about looking that information up? Are you a service tech?

I didn't know the Bronco has low level outputs. So you connected RCA cables directly from the vehicle to the inputs on the amp? What amp?

Amp is JL-Audio VX700/5i.

There are no low level outputs in the Bronco so I connected the audio output from the Bronco to the amp using speaker wire to RCA adapter.

Some amps accept high level inputs, the OP's amp is apparently one of those. You connect speaker wire input and then run speaker wire outputs.

One way to avoid this sort of issue may be to use a line converter to run low level inputs, but I'm not sure it would prevent it.
*edit* guess his accepts high level on the RCA inputs, that's rarer to find, I think...

Oh, ok. I get it now. Apparently some vehicle head units have issues if they are powered up and speaker wires aren't connected to actual speakers. Must sense there is little/no resistance going to your LOC. There's a device to compensate for that. Call Crutchfield.

I am a dealer that oversees fixed operations which includes parts, service, body shop, wholesale, heavy truck and trailer departments. My brother handles the sales departments.

Man this sucks. I have intentions on wiring up an amp as well for a sub. Has me nervous.

So do we know if the head unit has rca outs for an amp or is that not a thing on factory radios anymore?

Well, I guess if you're gonna have tires that are oversized... 😜
It hits pretty good for a single 12. They were originally going to set it up to down fire but changed plans.

No cargo room now

Just an fyi. There is no amount of music listening that could ever justify 11k on a speaker system. Especially in a vehicle with such a poor sound stage. My mind is just blown. So for that money you now have a. No cargo or extra storage space. B. No one outside that speaker shop that can work on this system if there is a problem. C. No chance ever to recoup the cost d. You will be deaf or have substantial hearing loss and realize at that point what a dumbass younger you was.
