Hey guys I’m looking into getting extended warranty with granger. I read the pricing are going up on Monday April 1. So probably going to get it tomorrow. I live in Utah and off road pretty often. I want to lift my bronco/37 some day and upgrade the sound system, not sure if soon. Just wondering which type of coverage I should get. Thinking to get 100k mile one. 2022 Bandlands SAS. Thanks in advance

I went with premium 100k mile for 7 years cause it was only a few $ more then 6 years and a lot less then 8-10 yr plans. It’s not my daily so I don’t put too much miles on it but anywhere to off road is hundreds or thousands of miles from my home base so figured I’d keep a good mileage buffer for my current usage. Usually don’t keep vehicles for too long but this thing was so expensive that Ford won’t get me to buy at usual 1-2 year cycle so I’ll keep it till right before extended warranty runs out.

I've bought a couple ESP's from Granger. I highly recommend them.

Honestly I feel like you have two choices. Either do powertrain only, or go for it all and do premium care. Once you start looking at the money a few hundred extra now could really save you a lot down the road. I'm mostly worried about the electronics after a few years of abuse.

I generally do 10/125, $100 deductible Premium Care. I keep things forever.

I was looking at 10yr/100k. Mine is a base sas. I ended up going with extracare. It seemed like most of what else was in premium covered things mine didn’t have. I wanted the engine, turbos, transmission, diffs, steering rack, window motors, alternator, and AC covered. None cover the tops or static non-moving parts. I probably could have gone even lower but the extracare seemed like the sweet spot with cost/coverage for my vehicle and duration. Definitely expand the comparison chart to see how they differ. Specific components covered inside each major category change based on plan. “Powertrain” is not the same between all four plans.

another note: i assumed my audio upgrades might void some head unit coverage. If I lifted it, I’d assume that would void steering rack, axles, and maybe other drivetrain components. Technically, even vehicles used for “off-road” use aren’t covered by the plans in the fine print of the contract they send after you purchase. Not sure how they can do that and sell it for Broncos, but it’s in there.

edit: for future reference, my profile pic was on a really dirty highway. I’ve also smacked my transmission cross member braces a few times on big rocks that were on I-75, and the paved road near my house always splashes my alternator with mud 😊

^^This.

If someone is going to heavily modify their Bronco, I'd think long and hard about buying an extended warranty that could basically be useless.

I previously considered getting one but my Bronco is heavily modified so for me, it would basically be useless.. Sure some things would be covered but not enough coverage for me to justify the price of the warranty..

Good luck to the OP whatever they decide to do.

I just bought an extended warranty from Granger, went 8/75k PremiumCare with $50 deductible. It's not my main driver so I don't expect to put on mega miles. Really there wasn't that much of a difference between the $50 and $100 deductible so went with $50. A claim and a half I'll break even.
