"Wife losing memory"? What a dream come true (lol). Mine remembers EVERYTHING and gets irritated when I can't recall the smallest detail of what was obviously WAY more important to her than me. I have trouble remembering what I had for Breakfast, much less what dress she was wearing on that date way back 10 years ago.

You can fix this. I did with my wife, who happened to be a Dismissive-Avoidant attachment style (the absolute worst type). It is definitely challenging though.

In the long run it's cheaper to just accept it and say "yes dear".

Try to control the devil. Practice stoicism. No reason to live life by reacting to what other people do. When we do that, our lives are a roller coaster being controlled by anyone we cross paths with.

My wife would most likely point you to the cliff and then help with a push. Pointing out each other's foibles then trying to "fix" them is no "life" worth living as a couple.

Just the other day, watched the '60s neighbor lady across the street back out, and hit my 4Runner. I saw my vehicle literally move from the impact. And she drove off, with me yelling to stop...called the sheriff...she came back over an hour later...and told the sheriff that "she didn't know" she had hit my 4Runner...you never know...

Seeing as your wife could probably walk around under it and not know it was there, either she wouldn't see it, or couldn't hit it. Those 40's (42's?) are bumpers. I think yer fine.

I think we realized that Tom and his wife are Avoidant personalities. If you two are happy and succesful, it's no issue to me. More often then not when 1 partner is avoidant and 1 is not, it's a catastrophe. Life is about growth, learning, change, personal development. Trying to do that with an avoidant partner is like trying to swim with an anchor around your neck.

Literally nothing of the sort. I'm sorry you see it that way. This is what society is telling you to think when men actually speak their minds and stop dealing with all of the BS that women bring. Our lives are peaceful and joyous, filled with love and respect. Men and women are different creatures and we compliment each other. Masculine and feminine energies are a perfect yin and yang. The real tragedy lies within the happy wife-happy life crowd. Domineering women and neutered men trying to chase their tails to make their partners happy.
