Ford performance recently came out with this. I’m worried about it bricking after certain software upgrades (similar to what others have experienced when simply swapping in raptor units). Although this one may be different? It also comes with some type of secondary adapter/ballast.

Yeowch - for that price I'd definitely go with something else...like Morimoto. You can get their XB headlights + taillights for a shade over $1K.

I heard a lot of those aftermarket headlights crap out after a couple years. Some ppl switched from the better XBRG to simpler XB after multiple returns but those don’t have the nice halo design.

I wonder if the new modules it comes with fixes the bricking 🤔

Maybe, but Morimoto backs with a 5-yr warranty so I'm not too concerned. Also, I swapped from Oracle headlights b/c you find those halos are pretty much a young man's trend. These Morimoto XB's are unique and many people comment on the looks (in a good way).

This is what keeps me from aftermarket. Would love to gain the projector cutoff but not at the cost of longevity. The Raptor units use the same low/high beam so no gain there. (Right?)

Either this ballast/adapter piece sets it apart from the bricking issues ppl have on a straight raptor swap. Or this…likely this. I question if maybe this coding fixes issues on a straight raptor swap too. But also worried that even with these if you have a software update your headlights are totally bricked until you get back to the dealer to re run this coding with a forscan

For context I have a damaged OEM headlight so considering getting this on sale for 1,200ish for the set. Not too far off from what my body shop has quoted for one OEM non-Raptor headlight.

Those modules come on all signature headlights. They’re simply not attached to the headlights in the picture.

I’m seeing that now. Just pulled up a stock one. I guess it’s really the forescan code that’s needed. Probably a hack too for guys looking for used OEM Raptor lights in ebay

Totally understand that everyone has different styling preferences, and that's one of the nice things about the aftermarket. For anyone researching options, we actually offer several versions of our Bronco Oculus™ headlights depending on what you're after, including White DRL, Amber DRL, Switchback, Heated, and ColorSHIFT®. Whether someone prefers a more factory-inspired look or something more customizable, there's usually an option that fits their build.
