Ford performance rack is broken I’ve got questions

Third trip out with the new ford performance steering rack installed and it broke along with a tie rod. My Bronco is still on the trail and there is no towing it out. Can I reinstall the old rack without changing the tuning for the rack or do I need to figure out how to tune it back to the old rack?
I was also told that if the rack is broken, the clock spring is probably broken too, will it drive off the trail without it?

You do not need to reprogram the old rack or change any programming anywhere - only brand new racks need an initial program

Bronco will drive without a clock spring - that just runs the buttons and controls on the wheel

This makes no sense to me.

The clock spring is only good for some many turns of the steering wheel before it breaks.
I know I broke it, because when trying to get my dead horse out of the way to get the others up and past me, I was turning the steering wheel because it would grab ever so slightly to help with turning the tires as I was driving ahead, until it just wouldn’t grab anymore, then I had to use my winch to turn my tires in the direction I needed to go.

I noticed that as well...??? Why not completely remove it, like I did. Seems real dumb to do all that work for only a few inches of more space.

He didn’t want the square back look, he wanted the look of the roll bar.

So I got the old rack installed, I could steer, but NO power steering. I think maybe it’s due to the broken clock spring. I did get the Bronco off the trail and to my house. 4L is no fun without power steering and don’t even think about the front locker!!

Clock spring has no effect on the steering rack. Make sure the power connectors are not compromised.
