I hope not to touch them for a while. Not overly impressed with the quality other than the boots! The boots are absolutely fantastic! Fit extremely well!
I'm looking to upgrade some of the steering components. The Icon and Dorman tie rods are within $25 of each other which do you prefer? They both appear to be plenty strong but I haven't actually seen either in person.

Neither are better than the HOSS 3.0 ford performance ones, money well spent! Dormans only have 1 wheeling trip and maybe 200 miles on them? The way I look at it right now is if you have a standard steering rack Icon. If you have HOSS 3.0/ford performance definitely dorman since the steering boots(you don't want to use them on a standard steering rack) alone are worth the upgrade.

It looks like the doorman boot uses a spacer to make it fit the smaller diameter of the regular rack… is that correct?

So working though a few things that needed to get fixed. My rear bags saddle bags lasted a year, so I am trying some Milwaukee Pack outs. Replaced my lower control arms which proved difficult to find something not gold plated. Stuck on some new upper control arms to help with steering. Had to install spacers for my ARB sliders that slowly moving into the doors.

Haven't been wheeling due to family stuff. Got a few more little things to mess with but pretty happy with the outcome. Got a week to go, then beer, fishing and beer.

When your last oil change was a tad more difficult than you want to admit and out comes the credit card.

Thinking the red will be 1/4"x 1 1/2" flat bar and the green will just be some 3/8" thick what ever I find in the scrap bin.

I've done lots of re-enforcement like this on TJ and JKU Skids (My Wife is particularly good at bending stuff in her JKU).

Found the best thing to be 1/4" inch thick 2 inch Angle iron laid with the point up, then welded along both edges in about 4 inch stretches with a 2 inch gap between stretches...

I don't have an example in the shop right now or I'd take a picture for you...
