These tops crack on Raptors too. And Raptors have the extra brace. So I'm not sure about the flex theory. I'm convinced it's just a piss poor design.

There are two types of MIC hard tops...

Those that have cracks and those that will have cracks.

I didn't notice mine had cracks until I was checking out my buddies 2-door sitting just right in the sun and noticed he had cracks then I had mine in the sun at about the same angle when I was putting my top back on and I noticed the same cracks around the rear window. Lucky for me I Had 40K at that time and was out of warranty I tried to get it covered but Ford said nope. I say I am lucky because if they had replaced it and it was a worse top with severe cracks I would really be screwed. Once it is no longer top off weather here I will put the top back on and take it to get lineX or some other bed coating to seal it up, if that don't work I'll look at an armadillo top.

You do know that if a BBB claim isn't settled immediately and goes to arbitration, the arbitrator's award is binding on the manufacturer but not the owner, right?
If the arbitration is directly by BBB then I'm reasonably sure that is not true. Any arbitration hat could be entered into would be voluntary and up to Ford as to whether binding or not.

And you do know that small claims can be limited to a few thousand dollars, far less than the cost of a MIC
OPs state of GA has a limit of $15k. Here in CA, it's $12.5k. Some states do have low limits of $2.5k

Two additional braces and a reinforced frame. That said that does guarantee a flex level small enough to insure no cracks (assuming, of course that flex is a contributor).

And does the Manufacturer have to engage in arbitration in the first place. No they do not.

Do they have to show up and in Small Claims always fully binding?

Yes.

What fucking good is that if small claims court can't give you more than a few grand. BBB is free and often the best first and last step.

And like I said in another thread, read the sale agreement. Arbitration is often REQUIRED before going to court.

Jesus Christ you are a PIA. Go to law school.

As I stated above, many states have $10k or above limit for Small Claims, including the OPs state. Do you read?

A consumer can absolutely choose Small Claims without prior going through BBB mediation.

Lastly, to be clear in BBB mediation, with Ford, FOR WARRANTY issues only, they are not binding. Binding means binding on both parties (legal definition). It is binding on Ford only if the consumer accepts it. I can see how you mistakenly believe this is binding.

Go to law school yourself!

Had my 22 hard top replaced this fall, just before the warranty ran out. To echo what everyone else has said, it's amazing that it's almost 2026 and the MIC issues are still a thing. Ford's found a way to extort us with the painted top option, but if you want a Base, that's not an option, so you're still screwed/stuck to the MIC. I really wish Besttop would have put out a proper square back soft top for the 2DR, but they put out a $6K powered top with a tiny window instead....oh well, that's another thread.

IMO, Ford needs to bring back a full ala carte options list on the base 2-door. Might as well kill off the BL 2-door in that scenario.

It's the only way I can have my dream 2-door with cloth seats, painted top, and a very select list of other items that doesn't rack up to $60K+.

Yeah, that'd be nice, but that ship has sailed.

I don't think you bothered to think through what I said: "You do know that if a BBB claim isn't settled immediately and goes to arbitration, the arbitrator's award is binding on the manufacturer but not the owner, right?" The arbitrator's award is binding on Ford. It's not binding on the owner. That means, very obviously, that if the owner doesn't accept it then Ford doesn't do it. But if the owner accepts it, Ford MUST do it.

This is called logic. Try it sometime.

Why anyone would order a new Bronco with the MIC is beyond me. For us early reservation holders, we had no choice.
Because Real 2 dr Broncos only come with a hard top from the factory!
