This is the best option for those with the MIC. Looks great!

That looks great. When my warranty is up this is my plan.

I do have a question, did you remove the top for the spray application or leave it on?
They took the roof off, and also removed the rear glass hatch. They only masked off the side glass.

Looks great. I have a feeling there might be quite a few of us doing this in the next few years.
Or recycling our MIC tops with the rest of our cardboard pizza boxes and buying aftermarket.

My primary concern with this is that it might make the OEM roof rack not quite fit. As it is, I currently have to fiddle with the rack quite a bit to get it on and off (seasonally). The clamps on the back are pretty snug, even when loosened. The liner application would presumably exacerbate that.

Certainly not a concern if you don't have or ever intend to have a rack, but for me that's an important feature. All that said, I like it. It looks sharp.
This is a concern of mine. I’ve been on the fence for a long time about getting a roof rack. My roof degradation was only getting worse so I felt like I needed to do something about it. It will be a puzzle for me to solve should I ever decide to get one.

I’m on the fence regarding textured or painting a smooth matte black. 🤔

My hard top, like many others, has had a mismatched shade of gray on one panel since day 1. I’ve lived with it since it wasn’t that noticeable. Three and a half years later, it’s developed the snakeskin surface cracks pretty bad. My dealership wouldn’t help me for smaller problems so I knew they wouldn’t help here, especially with the 3 year warranty being up. I really don’t want a soft top, so I decided there was nothing to lose and I had spray-on bedliner applied to the roof. I had the fender flares done as well since they became a bit discolored and beat up. It also looks way better to have the roof and flares match, in my opinion. I’m really happy with how this turned out. I think the Bronco should have looked like this from the factory. Big thanks to Oregon Truck and Auto Authority in Central Point, Oregon.

The spray-on bedliner really gives it a rugged, uniform look.

For anyone wanting to do this with different products, just keep in mind that UV protection (a UV-protectant clear coat) may be needed for long-term colorfastness and UV stability to prevent cracking or paint delamination issues.

Looks good.

I used $80 roll-on DIY bedliner for my Gladiator hard top that was damaged in a rollover and it too came out good. I did a couple coats of clear poly over the top for UV protection.

Is this product they applied to your Bronco UV stable? Or can it fade or discolor after a couple years of sun damage?

Yes, it’s UV stable. My Bronco lives outside so I’ll be putting it to the test.

This really looks great!
Do you have any photos of the roof issues before the coating?
