Same. I’ve been dealing with connection issues ands no sound from my left side speakers. I have to turn off the Bronco and open the door to reset.
If you hold these 2 buttons it will reset while you’re driving without having to shut everything down.

iOS 26 did not fix the issue of putting my iPhone at max volume automatically while in my Bronco and after leaving it.

I really like the new Apple update. For those who have had problems connecting wirelessly this has fixed the issue for me. I had been only able to connect with a wire for the past few months. It is now working seamlessly.
Now I.m worried. My CarPlay has always worked great from the beginning. Should I update with IOS 26 is the question.

I guess I’m behind the news in Apple iOS, but did it jump from 18 to 26 with nothing in between?

they decided to name it after the year it's released rather than iteratively

I"m in this boat too. car play works 95% of the time for me. and that 5% is just when amazon music plays but there is no sound.

Therefore, I too am hesitant to update.

That’s the problem. This is required more often than necessary.

The only time I have to do it is with the OnX app. Everything else works flawlessly.
Lucky. I can leave the house playing music. Stop at the store. Get back in. Either phone takes forever to connect or no CarPlay audio. Reset. Happens daily. If not multiple times a day. And I only drive 1-3 days a week.

iOS 26.0.1 came out last night to correct some issues. Not sure if it remedies the problems mentioned here, but may. I’ve been running iOS 26 beta and production for some time now with no issues.

Best guess is that Apple decided to start numbering major releases of iOS based on the year of the release rather than using sequential numbers. They probably explained it at the last launch event. This would be the 2026 version of the iOS software if that is the case.

IIRC that causes a 'hard reset,' not the soft reset that shutting down and opening the door causes. So rebooting with those buttons MAY help with your issue.

You'll also want to make sure Sync is up to date. If you aren't doing the automatic updates you may still have issues.

Mine occasionally does this with any Ford, whether it be the Bronco, my wife's Expedition, or my truck. The only thing that DIDN'T do it was my Ram...but the connection to that had other issues that I'm glad I don't have anymore, like disconnecting while driving along certain power lines.
