Hi I don’t see a lot of threads but as a new Bronco owner I was frustrated with CarPlay. Doing errands and CarPlay would sometimes disconnect, or connect with no sound 5,6 or more times.
I called the tech hotline and they provided a service bulletin GSB 24-7076 that isn’t fully publicly released yet. On Thursday I had my dealership flash the this release and so far I’ve only had one disconnect issue.
i am hopeful, one disconnect in a week versus 1/2 dozen a day, yes please.

There have been a slew of OTA updates that may or may not affect this.

I experienced the same thing you have though - I would have to reboot Sync 2-3 times a week, and would have consistent CarPlay interruptions in particular locations (one of which is right outside my office).

I ended up disabling Wireless Carplay and just switched to using a USB cable. It's a minor pain to have to dig my phone out every time I want CarPlay, but I've found the battery in my phone stays charged, the audio quality is much better, I went from rebooting Sync 2-3 times a week to once every 3-4 weeks (still get a random glitch occasionally), and if I really want Wireless phone/music to play without CarPlay, there's still Bluetooth via Sync

GSB 24-7076 isn't a repair, it's just general sync 4 programming information.
Either way, updating the APIM to the latest calibration like they did can/will typically fix connection issues most of the time.

I see threads like this and I’m not sure why people have so many issues-are you sure you’re connected using WiFi instead of BT?

In the almost 3 years I’ve had my Bronco, I’ve had maybe half dozen issues with CarPlay and normally holding the power and seem right button to reset the system took care of whatever issue I was having with sync.

I had to put a post-it note on the dash showing the system reboot (Hold Power and Fast Forward) just for this kind of issue. Much better than finding a place to pull over to shut off the vehicle.

I don't have the disconnect problem per say. But about about every 5th or 6th time I have carplay connect and find no sound. Usually in a hurry every where I go. But I found if you take your I phone and shut off the Wi-Fi connection and turn it back on the car reconnects and works fine. I know it isn't a solution to the over all problem but it is a work around for what its worth

I have had the exact same experience as Brian. I just default to using the USB cable if the wireless Carplay doesn't work, which is about once a week. I find that the wireless function drops most frequently when I've already been out and about, then stop for an errand. Then I come back out after a few minutes, restart the Bronco, and the wireless Carplay screen is up, but no sound. And he's correct, there's always Bluetooth as a backup.

If this is the worst situation I run into, I'm good.

I have a 2024 Wildtrak that is not quite 4 weeks old and the disconnect frequency is getting greater. On a 30 minute drive today I had 2 disconnects. Between that and the backup 360 system failing 25% of the time and giving me a black screen and telling me to call the dealer, it is frustrating.

Making sure I'm tracking the same problem. I've seen a few times in my week of ownership. CarPlay connects fine, it shows it's playing music (in the Apple Music app) but get no sound.

That’s the majority of what I get, others it disconnects and powers off audio and a few times the phone just won’t connect

I’ve been in 4 times to my dealership, talked twice with the online support but they can’t find a resolution.

Carplay is less than perfect, and for me, the issues seem to ebb and flow, I'd wager around updates. Used to occasionally get the audio playing without sounds, and i'd even plug in and still no sound until I restarted or switched to straight bluetooth. Been a while since I had this happen though.

Latest issue has been Spotify spinning indefinitely when I try to select something, requiring me to take out my phone and select something in the app directly, and then it plays fine.

What is "Seem right button"?
